As things Stand right now the Jets have 8 Picks in the 2014 draft.
I'm 99.9% certain Revis is on the Buc's roster 3 days in to the 2014 nfl roster season so I'm saying that's a 3rd rounder.

    so right now the Jets have 1-1st, 1-2nd, 2-3rd, 1-4th, 1-5th, 1-6th, 1-7th.
Most experts put the Jets as having 4 compensatory picks in 2014.
I'm just guessing here but Landry probably lands either a 4th or a 5th.
    Keller Lands possibly a 5th, but probably a 6th.
DeVito and Greene probably land 6th rounders.

So optimistically the jets could have 2-3rd, 2-4th, 2-5th, 3-6th. *including the Revis trade), with 1 pick in the 1st, 2nd and 7th rounds.

More probable the jets will have 2-3rd, 2-5th, and 4-7th with 1 pick in the 1st,2nd,4th and 7th rounds.

obviously I like option A better than option B.

This sound about right to you guys?

I'm hoping Keller and Landry lands 3rd. [Keeps finger crossed.]

Does Keller get the Jets a comp pick if he is on IR all year? Wasn't sure how that was going to pan out since he will start 0 games for the Fins.

I don't think it matter how much they play, just what their average per year contract is and how much they played for the jets the year prior to FA, if I understand the process correct...then again this is a convoluted system so I may be way off base.

looks about right. I think Laron could net us a 3 but I'm just being too optimistic. 3 3's would be huge.

It'd be nice but I think Generally to get a 3 it pretty much has to be a 8M+ per annum type contract.

I think the Raiders will end up having the #1 overall pick ...

I was bored (really bored) the other day and I made an excel spreadsheet and quickly went through each weeks schedule picking the games (using 1s for wins and 0s for losses) and I have the Raiders going 2-14.

The Raiders would probably pick Bridgewater

Most seem to think Bridgwater or Clowney, of course one season of college football could change that picture.

Maybe we could tank against the Raider and give them 3 wins :p ha ha....or did you have the Jets as one of their wins? :p
It's a long shot but the raiders may actually already have their QB of the future on their roster and it looks like Pryor is going to get his chance to show if he can drive an offense in the regular season.

lol no I had the Jets winning that one!

I'm using this as part of an article I'm writing for footballnation.com in predicting over/under win projections by Vegas!

This Is What The Jets Need

The Jets need a WR bad maybe two of them. Holmes will most likely get cut after this season. Marqise Lee would look nice in Jets Green. The rest of the draft should go TE, S, OLB to replace the horrible Calvin Pace (actually a cadaver will do also), WR, CB, RB. This draft should be as offensive as it get. But if the Jets are drafting top 3-5 and Clowney is there (also means Rex is gone) that would be 4 1st round picks chosen for DL.

I understand we need to draft offense, but if Clowney is there you dont hesitate

Clowney will be a top 3 pick, at worst, so I doubt he will be available to the Jets.

IMO, WR & OLB will be the 2 targets in Rd 1, depending who will be available.

I know it may not be a popular choice by the fans, but drafting Anthony Barr, OLB, UCLA would be an ideal replacement for Pace.

If the Jets draft a QB in Rd 1 they have made a clear statement they have given up on Geno.

  13. I'm starting to think he might slip the same way Coples/Mingo did over the last couple years.

He's been battling some injuries, teams are scheming away from him & the media is constantly pointing out his lack of playmaking. That tends to push stock down.

We're potentially looking at the best offensive draft QB/Skill wise in a long time.In a league that is craving dynamic playmakers & franchise QBs..that could hurt Mr. Clowney.

Coples & Mingo were never rated as high as Clowney going into their last year. I expect Clowney to start playing to his ability, he's still an absolute freak of nature. I think an injury and teams playing away from him won't hurt him as much as you think.

A solid year will be all it takes to get Clowney in the top 3. It's unrealistice to belive Clowney will have another 2012 season, but we know he has the ability.

I would love Kyle Van Noy in the first then Jordan Matthews in the second.

If that were the case, wouldn't we already know what our picks are?
No way we'd get a 3. Teams get 3s for elite guys...
    You bet
I doubt that. The Jaguars would have to beat them in record, not even just tie. The Browns are in tank mode already too.
I saw a mock with us taking him like...3rd overall I believe.
    Mingo didn't really slip...
I see your point though. It's WAY too early to talk draft.

How will Lyerla's stock be affected by leaving Oregon. Will he be a 2nd round pick? Maybe even a 3rd?

Colts value decreases a tad bit but it depends how he does in the combine, he will for sure come out now though.

He clearly has some issues, he was called out by both of Oregon's Head Coaches the past 2 seasons. The off field stuff is a concern, I've heard he misses meetings, practices and has lost focus.

As long as Lyerla is able to stay in shape, have good workouts and interviews, he should be a high draft pick. I think he will be a solid 2nd Round pick, some team will give a chance since he has 1st Round ability.
