Tried it a long time ago, it's a nightmare.

We are one of the few team messageboards that gets their drafts (3 Rd & 7 Rd) completed every year, most die off before being finished.

I would expect a cluster fuk. I have observed a few, not participated in, that had strict guidelines in place. Only picks could be traded, not players, and there would only be a window of time where u could make trades, before the draft.

Does take some of the juice out of it but it seemed to work ok, the little time I saw.

We allowed trades in our 7 round draft last year. We finished the morning of the draft.

    It took a month.

I've been running our drafts for about 7 years and we usually finish our 7 Round Mock draft in late March in about 6/7 days and that includes all comp picks too.

Some trades are so off the wall and so unrealistic it just makes a mockery of the draft.

I was hoping Moore would fall to the Browns, wishful thinking. Not reaching for a pass rusher at #6.

I went with the best defensive player on my board and Cleveland needs help everywhere on defense. Haden and Milliner will be a solid unit.

I also like the Milliner's ability to play Safety, if needed, something not too many people bring up.

Maybe it's time to look in another direction, I did with the Brown's pick, I wanted Moore, Werner or Jones...all were gone. Reaching for a player of need is a big mistake in early Rd 1.

85, Milliner is a great pick for the Browns. He's my number two choice for them after Moore (Jones 3, Lotuleili 4). Not sure how well Werner will convert to OLB, so I'm really hoping he comes off the board before the browns are up. The Browns need a starting corner opposite Haden, and Milliner is so much better than what will be available at their next pick.

Also, that's awesome that you guys can get through a round a day, especially later in the draft.

The Cardinals have a few areas of need but when you are starting Ryan Lindley and John Skelton and you bring in an OC to be your head coach there is only one area to go... Bruce Arians will be tied to Geno Smith for better of for worse. There was a time that Smith looked like the best player in the draft but West Virginia's D being exposed for what it was I think hurt Smith. I think after the combine he could move back up the board but we'll really know what he is at that point.

the logic behind taking warmack is....
    1. best player left on the board.
    2. cj spiller and fred jackson - 2 very good backs.
    3. adam levitre is a FA.
    4. less than stellar QB play.

i admit this is a very suspect position for a guard to be picked but looking at the above factors and just how good warmack is, u have to pull the trigger.

Eric Fisher is a stud and can step in and be one of the best RT's in the game immediately. If D'Brick goes down, he can easily play LT. With this move, Howard can try and move inside and for once we actually have decent depth on the OL.

After reading the MM article by Turn on the Jets, it was clear that a Tackle in his offense needs to be extremely athletic and have very quick feet. That really doesnt describe Austin Howard and I think the argument can be made that Fisher was even BPA.

I really want to bolster this offense with talent, and with the big 3 passrushers gone in Werner, Moore and Jones, along with Warmack, I thinks its a pretty easy decision. Now when we attempt to get a new franchise QB, he wont have to worry about DE's flying around the corner with two stud tackles.

Great Pick, I have no issues. The only thing, when it's for real in late April, I think Fisher may not make it to #9.

Guys...let's make sure we PM the next GM after you make your pick, and post it in your selection thread.

Also, if you're are leaving, and your pick is approaching, PM your board to me.

    Thanks!!

I like the Jets pick... dude is really moving up the boards and I really like the logic behind it. IMO the biggest need in this draft is Pass rusher but with all the top ones gone we need to go OL, OL and more OL. Call me crazy but I still think Sanchez can be succesful with a good OL. We still need to find playmakers but I think by building an OL you have the oppurtunity for one on your roster to develop into one.

Honestly I thought about taking Fisher with the Cardinals pick but IMO the need for QB was too large to pass up.
