OK...I don't want to debate the Sanchez issue (whether he stinks, has no help, or both....it seems clear this is it for him). And please save the Tebow BS. It also seems pointless to bring in a vet (the whole offense needs to be revamped).

So, what are the QB options in the draft (I don't follow college too closely)? I know Barkley is good, but do we go with another USC QB (and I don't imagine we will be drafting high enough to get him)?

VERY LITTLE, 2013's QBs aren't very impressive.

Barkley isn't that great, don't kid yourself.

There's no immediate impact studs but some guys who can develop into studs

    I want Zac Dysert

I see a lot of Mac games and Dysert has potential.

That being said, the Jets need to get a vet QB, on the roster next year.

I still like Geno Smith... Other than that I dont see much in this class, sadly.

We have such shitty timing. One year late for Luck and RG3. Even Tannehill looks promising... Typical Jets.

On a very important side note, drafting and trying to develop a QB means nothing unless its with a new regime. Tanny has no clue how to develop a new QB and failed miserably with Sanchez. Say what you want about Sanchez, but he did show promise and that went down the shitter from everything he's been put through.

Geno Smith is overrated and not the answer for the Jets.

Probably one of the worst years in recent memory to draft a Round 1 QB.

Your avatar is looking better and better for the Jets.

Even if we realized Sanchez wasnt the answer last year we wouldnt be getting luck or RG3

Look what the Skins had to give up to get him

We would of paid an absurd bounty, and then RG3 would just get killed behind our non existant Oline.

Not the guy you were addressing, but I love Gio Bernard. This guy is the real deal. Unfortunately, I don't think you can take this guy where the Jets will be drafting, which is most likely anywhere from 11-20. Unless we trade back.

Syracuse's Ryan Nassib may have the quickest release I've ever seen. I think he's gonna soar from a third rounder to maybe a late first-mid second rounder. Not saying that I want the jets to draft him, our any QB for that matter, but u think he is the sleeper QB of this years draft.

Not the draft to take a QB in unfortunately.

Yeah I think he is or will be a little overrated simply because this QB class is so shitty. He does have good intangibles and arm strength, very good pocket presence and accuracy. I dont think he's really worth a top 5 pick, but I think he is around 10ish...

This is going to be a very tricky situation. This fan base couldn't handle another year of Sanchez at this rate and this whole regime needs to be scrapped. Thing is, most new regimes want to start with a new QB and there isnt one elite guy in this class.

If we dont overhaul the scouting department, I dont see how we find a franchise QB this year. They cant even find a RB, why should any of us think they could find a QB?

And as for Gio, he's quickly becoming my favorite offensive prospect in the draft. He can do it all... Ive raved about him enough in other threads already so I wont now haha. Sadly, I think he'll be drafted in late round 1 (which its pretty evident we wont be drafting around). We would have to trade back pretty far to pick him up, or trade up (which we shouldnt be doing).

Who knows, maybe he'll fall to us in the early second... One can only hope. Its far away though so all pure speculation.

Yeah I know that, I was just saying that we are behind yet again and that the timing sucks. If the Jets were the skins, I would do that trade every time. They got a legit franchise QB who looks great. If he adds some weight he'll have a bright future. He's shown more in 8 games than Sanchez had in 4 seasons. As we all know, if you dont have a top 10 QB then you can kiss a SB goodbye. The Skins future looks a hell of a lot better than ours simply because of RG3.

Our OLine hasnt been great, but I would say its been average (at least in pass protection). RG3 would be fine.

Draft Dysert and sign a vet Hasselbeck, Moore, maybe Palmer(who knows with Oakland) and develop him for a year

we cant think because there's no Luck/Newton/Griffin that this isn't a good QB class but the guys will need some grooming

We could take the Cincinnati approach as well and be well off, build up the D, get another young receiver(Robert Woods, Keenan Allen, Justin Hunter) and take Dysert and develop him like Dalton, though Dysert has way better mechanics in my eyes and then fix the line and get a back and go from there

    Howard is AWFUL
    Slauson is bad
    Brick is playing avg~
Moore is somewhere between slightly below avg to slightly above avg

    Thats not an average OL

Seen him become much better this season. However as late as the end of last season he was terrible and had no chance to get drafted. He still throws fastballs to receivers standing 2 feet away from him, but I would not mind drafting him if it means Mark Sanchez is gone.
