Just saw that the Chargers cut D.J. Fluker who was a 1st rounder in that infamous 2013 Draft class. That draft year turned out to be a complete dump of busts.

    1) KC Eric Fisher Certainly not #1 overall material
    2) Jacksonville Luke Joeckel Bust
    3) Miami Dion Jordan Who?
    4) Philadelphia Lane Johnson Barely starter with suspension for PEDs
    5) Detroit Ezekiel Ansah Best so far
    6) Cleveland Barkevious Mingo Complete garbage
    7) Arizona Jonathan Cooper Mess
    8) St. Louis Tavon Austin Disappointment
    9) NYJ Dee Milliner Junk
    10) Tennessee Chance Warmack Avg NFL starter at best
    11) SD D.J. Fluker Just cut. I think was average at best.
    12) Oakland D.J. Hayden 1 barely there season as a starter. The other 3 seasons were injuries.
    13) NYJ Sheldon Richardson Probably the best of the bunch but off-field nonsense ruins him.
    16) Buffalo EJ Manuel Good thing its the Bills and not us.
    17) Pittsburgh Jarvis Jones Probably going to be released soon.

I think the best pick we can make in this draft is to keep Sheldon Richardson instead of accepting a low ball offer for more picks.

He might be better than anyone we could get in this draft even at #6 overall.

I think you're wrong. We don't need the distraction and possibility that he could get suspended. Give his reps to Thomas and Obioha and help speed their development. We don't need Richardson.

If the best we can get now is a fifth rounder do you cut bait or wait until next year's trade deadline to see if we can get more?

We aren't gonna get more next year in a trade. That's a pipe dream. He will be a FA as soon as the 2017 league year is over. The only way we'd beat that 5th is if we let him walk, didn't sign any big name FAs to counteract his signing with another team, and he signed a big contract that would bring us a 4th or a 3rd. I'd rather go ahead and get the 5th this year and let the player have a chance to develop and the Jets to see if he can help the team going forward. Besides, if they get a 5th this year, they could always trade it away for a 4th next year.

I am talking about before the trade deadline in October, not next off-season.

Last year we almost got a second rounder out of Dallas because they thought Sheldon was the missing piece of the SB puzzle.
