Starting a thread to discuss our first round draft pick # when todays games are finished. Assuming the score holds up, we can't finish lower than 12th, and with Tenn, Buf, Car, and TB all winning (as of 3:30 PM) we could end up in the top 8 when it's all said and done.

We need the most talented player on the board once our turn to pick comes up.

    Draft a TE.

But also I know we should focus on Offense but we could use a replacement for Brandon Moore.

With Tenn winning and most likely TB we'll jump to 10th. Even with a Buffalo win, they have an easier SOS than us, so they would still pick ahead of us.

I'm not 100% sure but do we get a higher pick if Cleveland ends up at 6-10? (A win today)

Edit: Pitt TD, game is probably out of reach.

Looks like Tennessee and Buffalo have their games wrapped up. Carolina and Tampa Bay are holding on to slim leads in their respective games. In other words, we're looking at pick 8 or 9.

Even if Cleveland wins, they'd still pick ahead of us based on SOS.

Key games later include SD and ARI. Wins by both would allow us to pick ahead of them.

Looks like we'll be picking between 8-10 depending on those games assuming the current scores hold.

Awesome. If Joeckel or Warmack fall to that spot, then one of them is who I would like. Or Jones, Werner or Jordan.

Who do you like at that spot?

Wilson, but I wouldnt pick him high. Only if he fell to our 2nd round pick (Unless he impresses at the combine/senior bowl/ individual workouts.)

Our future QB will be known May 2014, not May 2013.

Blah, feel this should be in the main forum. I get its about the NFL draft, but the intent was to discuss position, not names.

TB wins. Tenn wins. At worst we pick #10.

I'm not sure if we can pass Buffalo in terms of SOS, so if SD and ARI both win we move to 8th. If only one wins, 9th. If neither win, 10th. So anywhere between 7 and 10.

With our cap situation and our tough schedule next year, this certainly seems to be the case

As usual, take the BPA. With just one or two exceptions, the Jets need help at every single position.

Bark Mingo should still be on the board by the time we pick, and he's got the raw tools to be a dominant edge rusher. I'd love that pick.

No, there will be more proven talent in the top ten if he comes out (although he most likely wont come out). Next year I'd certainly target Barr though, hes a stud.
