Season is right around the corner. New divisions in place and Detroit and Winnipeg swapped conferences. It will be weird to see Detroit in the East after reigning over the West for so long. The Panthers have signed G Tim Thomas, and will have new ownership shortly. Hopefully they are moved soon. Should be a fun season, a full 82 this time.
LET'S GO CAPS!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Season starts tonight in Chicago. Can't ask for a better start to a season than defeating the Defending Champions in their house.
Lets make sure the Rangers and Capitals dont face off with each other this playoffs...I for one am tired of that matchup and those stupid horns the Caps have at their arena
Caps lose 6-4 but impressed me. The PP was really good. Improve the D and they should compete for a playoff spot.
Islanders vs Devils was a good game last nite,,,,,,shoot out went well for the isles,,,,,been a while since they won on opening day,,,,,team is young and spunky , should be a good year for hockey in the tri state area,,,hopefully the islanders can make some noise !
Oilers are that team that is always expected to take a leap, but never actually do. It's pretty comical at this point. Kevin Lowe hockey baby. Dubnyk looking like trash in net, softy after softy.
DK. Isles move next year,,,,,ps they lost in a shoot out tonight,,,tough one they were up 2 - 0 lost 3 -2
Thanks Statjeff,,,my bad,,,,,,,,,my buddy says that it also is not a done deal that they will actually move to bklyn,,,,,anyone know if this is true ? I heard the press conference months ago and thought the isles moving was DONE ?also I know the Barclays is not suited for watching hockey,,,that if the islanders or anyone else plays hockey there that it needs renovations,,,,any insight anyone ?
Laviolette out in Philly after just 3 games. I was at the game yesterday, and even though the Hurricanes only won 2-1 the really kicked the crap out of them. Flyers are a mess right now.
I can't see any way they don't move to Brooklyn. The deal that was signed for development of the Coliseum area does not allow for an NHL-caliber arena. Barclays may not be ideal for hockey right now, but it can seat close to 16000, and the new Coliseum will only have at most 13000 seats.
