March 26-28 -- NFL annual meeting (Palm Beach, Fla) -- compensatory draft picks awarded etc. Just found this.
Yeah looks like we should get at least 2 6's and 2 7's. One of the sixes (Ellis to the Pats) could come out to be a 5th.
If we net all these picks Tannenbaum will certainly trade our original draft slots in rounds 5 and 7. It's just a question of when.
Fixed that for you. I have to assume that even if we did trade all of our picks we'd be doing so to get at least 1 pick in return.
It's based off of how many FAs a team lost and the size of their contracts. There isn't really much to overestimate.
It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world if he traded a 5th and a few 7th rounders to get back into the 4th round. The Jets normally have very good luck with the 4th round.
Let's draft all the right tackles available. At least one has to be good enough to replace the highway.
7th round compensatory picks are basically UDFA's. 225-250 players will be picked already. Throw darts at the board and hope to find a role player if you are lucky.
OoOooO. I was not aware that we were getting that many. Maybe the Tebow trade isn't that bad after all. We should stock up on OTs and OLBs this draft. Throw a RB, WR in the mix somewhere and a safety. This is legit!
Are those projected on data that can confirm their accuracy or just opinion numbers? It would be nice to get that many picks but there always seems to be a surprise about what kind of comp picks the Jets end up with, and usually not a good surprise.
