2012-2013 TGG Death Pool (Rules/Discussion/Standings) As for Rules: Draft: ~ The draft order will be selected at random. If you have a problem with this, I'm not telling you my address/gmail account to look over my shoulder. Trust me or tough shit. ~ The draft will officially start at (Date TBD once sign-ups are over). At that this point you have a 12 hour window to make your pick. ~Picks will be made in a separate thread specified for drafting (Barry will sticky this specific thread right before the draft). ~When you make your pick: (1) Include their name, (2) a picture, (3) the persons age (birth date please), and (4) a short description as to why you selected them/who they are. ~ Once you've made your pick be sure to PM the next 2 people who are up so that we can keep this thing flowing as smoothly as possible. ~ All discussion of the draft picks will be confined to THIS THREAD, the other thread is specifically for drafting and any comments made as to the draft should be made in this thread. Standings/Points: ~ Scoring is extremely easy. The amount of points you receive from the death of an individual is 100 - Decedent's Age (i.e. Kate Upton is 19, she dies this year and you will get 81 points). This means that the safer the pick, the less points you will receive from the death. Therefore, individuals over the age of 100 are not selectable! ~Tie breakers at the end of season will be decided upon the birth dates of the individuals (i.e. age plus days old) (hence why it is important that you give the actual date of birth when you make your selection) Housekeeping: ~When you make your selection, only "celebrities" are fair game. This includes celebrities specific to your country (i.e. Last year, a lot of Aussies picked people famous in Australia). Generally, if someone has a wikipedia page or has name recognition, they can be selected. Thus, famous scientists, dictators, socialites, etc. CAN be selected. ~Please pay attention to the progress of the draft so that you can try to either be available for your pick when it's your turn, or so that you can provide a list to someone (preferably not in the pool) that will be around and that you will trust. ~If you DO NOT MAKE your 12 hour window, you will be skipped. After this, you can make your pick at any time, BUT the following players can continue to make their picks regardless. If you need special dispensation and can't make your window, private message me prior for your reason and I may give you an extension. ~I will message Petrozza to see if there can be a small non-monetary prize for the winner (maybe a special title under your name? any suggestions to bring to him would be welcomed) ~I will be updating the standings vigilantly, once one of your selections passes away, announce it in the thread AND private message me and I will put it on the scoreboard ASAP. ~With regards to the requirements for posting your pick, if you're someone who has problems with posting pictures, just PM your pick and I'll post it for you with the picture. ~Lastly, you don't have to but I'd suggest subscribing to the Draft Thread once the draft takes place so that you can get e-mail updates as to when picks are made. so im probably not going to pick til like tuesday realistically, right? ive never done this, not being cocky..but late picks are usually going to be awhile in general? (16th i think)
Depends on a few matters the speed of draft, time of week , of day, whether ppl are near a pc , or can use a phone to post, whether they have done picks and noticed theres have been taken and need to choose more .....Or just wait to last mInute to post
A musician in one of my favorite bands had a heart attack today, surgery, and is in ICU now. Boy, does this not create some conflicting thoughts for me now.

Just a suggestion here, but perhaps next year you reverse the draft order in alternating rounds like it's done in fantasy sports... seems the people at the top of the order will have an advantage in that they get first crack every round. I'm fucked at 18th... which is my own fault because I got in late, but the others at 14-17 a pretty fucked at no fault of their own.
