2007 Helmets

    A pre-season observation.....

    Anyone have any idea why there is a Green Dot in the back middle of EVERY QB's helmet? It appears to be the size of a half dollar. Only on the QB's. I do not remember seeing it last year....

    My best guess is a receiver for the communication with the sidelines

    I think you're right, I read somewhere that the green dot indicates the player has a radio in his helmet.

    Yeah, you guys are both right. In the age of slash players (like Brad Smith), it's to keep teams from having multiple players with radios in their helmet on the field at once.

    Bingo. It's to make sure they don't send two players with radiosets onto the field.
