We don't want Hawk, he won't fit. We need a 3-4 OLB he is more a 4-3 OLB. We need someone who can put a hand on the ground and rush it we want to switch quickly to a 4-3 and Barton and Hawk won't be able to do that.

Think Manny Lawson, Kamerion Wimbley, Darryl Tapp, etc.

You need 3 DE's for a 3-4 rotation. Right now we have 2 in Ellis and Kimo (I think Drob will play NT primarily when we go to a 3-4). Mario would rotate in with Kimo and Ellis his first year, and probably be a starter in his 2nd year. In 4-3 formations he would be the RDE i'd imagine.

I will be very upset if Mario Williams is there at 4 and we pass on him.

I wouldn't mind Mario, I would love Vernon Davis, and I am starting to warm up to the idea of taking a QB simply because it would be awesome to know we are set like the Giants, Steelers, Bengals, Jaguars, etc.

    Ditto

He's so good and so rare {big/strong 295 DE with the speed/quickness of a smallish edge rusher} that I wouldn't even be upset if we passed on my boy Cutler for Super Mario

There are going to be a few TOP NOTCH prospects ar #4. Unless we do something crazy, I have faith in the FO. As much as all of us Jets nerds study the draft, Tangini and the scouts do know more then we do.

But any of the top 3 QBs, Hawk, Mario or Brick will be fine with me. Heck, any of us could pick a great player at #4.

The concern I have is that with so many new guys on the staff, do they know what they already have in house? Does Mangini know how well D-Rob can perform in the 3-4? What are their plans for B. Thomas?

It's the same thing as when Herm and company drafted Moss in their first year. They had no idea Coles was such a viable threat. If they did, perhaps they would have looked for a more complementary WR or even a different position all together in the first.

I agree, Mario could possibly play some 3-4 OLB too, I'd be upset if we passed on him as well.
