This is my first mock of the year. It's very rough and includes no trades. The whole Abraham situation is simulated in the worst way: He leaves as a UFA without gettting traded. Two compensation picks are given to the Jets (3rd and 7th). The players you see in Rounds 4-7 were ones that I remember watching in College and looked pretty good... However those players could go earlier or later than I have them going. So here it is....

    1. Houston Texans- Reggie Bush RB USC

    6. Oakland Raiders- AJ Hawk OLB Ohio State
    7. San Francisco 49ers- Jimmy Williams CB/S Virginia Tech

    16. Miami Dolphins- Demeco Ryans OLB Alabama
    17. Minnesota Vikings- Laurence Maroney RB Minnesota
    18. Dallas Cowboys- Santonio Holmes WR Ohio State
    19. San Diego Chargers- Ko Simpson S South Carolina
    20. Kansas City Chiefs- Brodrick Bunkley DT Florida State
    21. New England Patriots- Abdul Hodge ILB Iowa
    22. Denver Broncos- Mathias Kiwanuka DE Boston College

    29. Denver Broncos- Chad Jackson WR Florida
    30. Indianapolis Colts- Bobby Carpenter OLB Ohio State
    31. Seattle Seahawks- Sinorice Moss WR Miami
    32. Pittsburgh Steelers- Antonio Cromartie CB Florida State

    ROUND 2
    33. Houston Texans- Eric Winston OT Miami
    34. New Orleans Saints- Ernie Sims OLB Florida State
    35. New York Jets- Claude Wroten DT LSU
    36. Green Bay Packers- Thomas Howard OLB UTEP
    37. Oakland Raiders- Charles Spencer OG Pittsburgh
    38. San Francisco 49ers- Manny Lawson DE/OLB NC State

    41. Arizona Cardinals- Jonathan Joseph CB South Carolina
    42. Buffalo Bills- Taitusi Lutui OG USC
    43. Cleveland Browns- Eric Winston OT Miami
    44. Baltimore Ravens- Nick Mangold C Ohio State
    45. Philadelphia Eagles- Maurice Stovall WR Notre Dame
    46. St. Louis Rams- Marcedes Lewis TE UCLA
    47. Atlanta Falcons- Kamerion Wimbley DE Florida State
    48. Minnesota Vikings- Max-Jean Gilles OG Georgia
    49. Dallas Cowboys- Daniel Bullocks FS Nebraska
    50. San Diego Chargers- Jonathan Scott OT Texas
    51. Miami Dolphins- Richard Marshall CB Fresno State

    63. Seattle Seahawks- Jason Spitz OG Louisville
    64. Pittsburgh Steelers- Jason Avant WR Michigan

    JETS PICKS:
Rd.1- D?Brickshaw Ferguson OT Virginia- The team could go with Young here, but they can?t pass up this guy here. This will allow the FO to cut Gragg and Fabini with no problems.
Rd.2- Claude Wroten DT LSU- This pick will get a lot of criticism, but with Abraham likely leaving and no true starter opposite Robertson, the team picks up a pass rushing DT. The pass rush struggles without Abraham it seems.
Rd.3a- Brodie Croyle QB Alabama- Is almost a Joe Namath clone. Has a strong arm which is something the team?s QBs have lacked recently. Is injury prone and this makes him a huge risk. If he stays healthy, we could have a steal
Rd.3b (Comp.) - Maurice Drew RB UCLA- Very productive in college. This backfield has lacked a breakway player like this for a while. Could provide a great 1-2 punch with Cedric Houston someday.
Rd.4a- Hank Baskett WR New Mexico- Is big, physical and could be a starter. Gives whomever our QB is a big target who can jump.
Rd.4b (KC) - Tim Jennings CB Georgia- A speedy nickel/dimeback.
Rd.5- Donovan Raiola C Wisconsin- Backup behind Mawae; A starter someday?
Rd.6- Troy Bienemann TE Washington State- Jolley could get released and Baker is a UFA. Depth could be needed.
Rd.7a- Clint Ingram OLB Oklahoma- An underrated player to provide depth.
Rd.7b (Det)- Jovon Bouknight WR Wyoming- Could go higher? Has good size/speed.
Rd.7c (Comp.) - Jahri Evans OG Bloomsburg- A Division II player who was dominant at that level. A big time sleeper.

I'd take it, but Jahri Evans will go higher and we need to address outside linebacker before the seventh.

I also think that Claude Wroten could have a very similar road to Antaj Hawthorne only he won't fall THAT far.

I dont see how (or why) the Titans could pass up on Vince Young. McNairs retiring and Volek really is nothing more than a solid #2. Its a match made in heaven. But if he did fall to us, and we were deadset on picking up a QB (people are speculating we are) then Id take this guy. Thats only IF Mangini was deadset on picking him, to be honest if I was the HC Id give Penny one final year

Jets wont pass on VY for D'Brick. Also if he was there for the Raiders they would take him.

Why would we only get a 3rd and 7th in compensation? We'll also get a 4th, likely for Jordan.

Yeah, I didn't think the compensation picks through thoroughly.

The "Vince Young not going to Tennessee" thing is just to make things a little intresting. I think that he is more a of a developmental prospect and Tennessee might want the true drop back passer... Than again, he's very similar to McNair of course and Young has ties to him.

I felt the Raiders had greater needs on defense. They did draft Andrew Walter in either the late 2nd or early 3rd in last season's draft though. So maybe they'll see what he can do.

I think the Jets are going to have to build up the OL with more then just D Brick.

I probably could have given them another OG pick a little higher... But I do have D'Brick at 4, Raiola in the 5th and Evans in the 7th.

if the titants pass on Vince Young they wont be taking cutler with the 3rd pick, there is no way cutler will go that high and he shouldnt either. They may trade down or go with a different player with that pick

great draft. love it. there's only one problem-I CAN'T PLAY RT, RG, C, and LG ALL AT THE SAME TIME!! You can't go into the draft and not take at least 3 O-Lineman before round 7! D'Brick won't open every hole. You need other o lineman. Gosh!

But I made this before I knew that Fabini and Kendal were gone. Had I known there would have been a few changes made.

Not a fan of Drew. He weighed in at 5'6. Also Croyle is an interesting pick he wouldnt be bad but Id be way concered about how fragile he is. He looks like Gumby out there.

Also I would hope we draft Mangold, Gean-Jiles, or Spencer ahead of Wrotten.

Baskett looked terrible at the Senior Bowl, practices and games. Hope we stay far away from him. He doesnt really bring the speed that we need.

I like the Brick pick though. I can totally see Cutler going to the Titans too. Sorry if it seemed as if I ripped on your draft, I hope you didnt take it that way. Just saying what I would do if I was the GM, a man can dream cant he... nice job though!!!

I like your mock a lot, you have Eric Winston going twice in the second round i think though(texans and browns maybe?) God help the AFC if Vernon "the duke" Davis falls the Bengals and they get another cog in their offense.

I like it, JFIPA ... it's different, but I like different ... I don't like when all mocks follow each other in unison, with no ballsy projections ... one thing we know for sure about the draft is there are always a number of surprises, cats who go higher than the consensus projections, and ditto cats who go lower ... so while my mock would look a lot different than yours, I still liked reading yours

Forget about Croyle in the 3rd- he won't be there.
