Personally, I think you have to go to the draft addressing your biggest weakness which is clearly our offense, from the oline to qb to rb. It's an absolute mess and Brian Schottenheimer's got the hardest job in the NFL ahead of him this year. I still hear the mention of Williams and Hawk and I cringe.
We've had a plethora of high draft picks for the defense over the last decade.
Enough with the AJ/Mario theories. Think Leinart, D'Brick, Cutler, White...in that order.

There have been posts of people wanting to draft D to make it ELLITE. Saying that an ellite D is special and can hrlp you win. I don't agree with thr presumed notion but...Of course we pick O. Half our O is being cut and it was already the most pressing need. I we improve the O even a bit then it will only help the D anyway because they won't be on the field for 45 min. a game.

We have a lot of good young players on our D--Vilma, Barton, Hobson, Rhodes, Coleman, Miller, Ellis, Robertson, but really nothing on offense, besides Coles I guess. Undoubtely O.

I would like O as well and I dont want to sound like a banker but....LOOK AT OUR CAP SITUATION. What a HORRIABLE time to have a top 5 pick. I mean its great because we are assured a top flight talent but, where is the $ gonna come from? We cant pick a QB, no way it happens this early we would not be able to afford it. Same with D'Brick he will command a huge amount of $$ not only this year but in the next 3-4 when he is due for an extension. So this is a dead argument, we will trade the pick and get out of the top 10, stockpile another 3rd or 4th and get another pick for J ABE in the late first early 2nd. With these picks we will go O LINE, we may pick up a linebacker and a DT as well. As for skilled positions ala RB, QB this will not happen until day 2 or late in day 1..
Its not that I dont want a high pick used on cutler or D'Brick, Young or linehardt but we can afford it...thats the only thing thats holding us back from using this pick and it makes this thread closed.

We are going to trade down and take BAP.
With our cap situation, it makes sense to trade down and pick up more picks.
4-12 teams have holes on both sides of the ball, so more picks and BAP will help.

Big (310+) athletic linemen will help solve many of our offensive needs!!! Additionally we need a great strength and conditioning program.

  9. Offense...no contest
