has Vernon Gholston brought a single iota of value to this team since he arrived here?....c'mon Rex.

Well what's Rex going to say, that Gholston sucks and is going to be gone after the season? He can't say anything like that..

I'm sure Rex does like some of the things Gholston shows in practice or in the game film, but with his lofty draft status and his contract, those things just don't cut it. He should be pressuring the qb and getting sacks. If he were an undrafted de, we could all be saying he's a useful guy and a great pick up by the front office. But not with his price tag. I really hope Rex isn't just blowing smoke and that he truly believes Gholston is developing and will be an "excellent player" like he said, but I just don't see it.

I'm just tired of hearing the same old song n' dance about Gholston.....we all know he sucks....the fans aren't stupid, Rex.

I understand he can't come out and say that.....but patronizing the fan base isn't the correct route either.

After drafting Gholston 6th overall, it should be interesting to see how we address the OLB position next offseason. We know Taylor is going to be gone so there's going to be a need for another pass rusher to pair with Pace.

Rex basically pitched the NYJ to the NFL thru Hard Knocks....I don't think we'll have any problems signing Free Agents...if Tanny decides to address that position (or any other position) in Free Agency.

still haven't given up hope. he played well in the ravens game and i've seen him make some good plays on special teams

do you even know who your coach is?

When has rex ever not been straight up about how he feels about something? When Kyle wilson was struggling, he said it. When schotty was getting too cute with the motion..he also said it.

Pretty sure he's been quoted that this is his last year somewhere.

Rex never really said anything bad about Wilson. He was always careful to say things like how Drew Coleman was playing great and earned more time, and how they threw too much too quick at Wilson and he's gonna be great.

He's never said anything bad about anybody really. He benched Rhodes last year and didn't say anything bad about him. He benched Lito Sheppard and didn't say anything bad about him.. why would he say anything bad about any of his players? Rex goes out of his way to pump up his players and say how great and wonderful they all are.. maybe you are the one who doesn't realize who our coach is. Why would any coach say anything bad about a player on their team actually?

Gholston barely plays anymore, that's all you need to know about what Rex thinks of him right now. At best he's a project player who might develop into a role player for a 4-3 team. With his price tag, that won't be as a member of the Jets. It's going on 3 years now and he's made exactly zero plays as a Jet.
