First of all, everyone is all over the place with this draft and I have no idea what's going to happen. 1-KC-Joeckel 2-Jags- Fisher 3-Oak-Floyd 4-Phil-Lotulelei 5-Det-Ansah 6-Clev-Jordan 7-Arz-Johnson 8-Buff-Nassib 9-Jets-Warmack 10-Tenn-Milliner 11-SD-Fluker 12-Mia-Hayden 13-Jets-Eifert
I get that Warmack and Cooper are studs at Guard. I know we need a Guard (or two). I just don't believe Guard is a game changer and worthy of a first round pick or that there is a huge drop off between these two and the next group. Sorry, our defense has lacked an elite pass rusher. After trading Revis that need is further emphasized. The Jets have the potential for getting the one player that would make Ryan's defense and it is ignored? No thanks, I'll take Jones at 9 and trade the 13th for a later first rounder and an early pick next season.
The drop off in talent from cooper and Warmack to the next ire of guards is huge. Add that to the almost complete lack of game changing talent in this draft and that gets them pushed up draft boards.
I don't mind the Warmack pick but don't like picking a TE that high, we have a lot of holes that require bigger impact players than a TE. I'd go OLB personally and with your draft Jones would still be available. I've been saying for weeks that Jones and Warmack would be my ideal draft (well, Jordan would be ideal but I don't think he's there).
I respect your mock, and I can actually see it happening the way you laid it out. However I notice Vacarro would still be on the board at #13 .... I think his ceiling is much higher than Eifert. Just a thought. I think there is a high probability that each side of the ball gets a new starter in the first, even if we trade back.
