OK, I know you guys think I'm nuts, but let's put a few facts together here.

I say that if your team has the same colors as the surroundings (the field and hash marks) you limit his ability to make an accurate decision in the limited amount of time they have to make and execute the decision.

I don't think this solves all of the problems, but by changing to a contrasting color you give the QB less to think about. It's an edge...the same as bringing in a player for 2 weeks for information.....using film.....etc...

    Here's a great article

    http://www.apivision.net/football.html

Now you take what they say and the FACT that contrasting colors are far less taxing on the eye, you start to get the idea of what I'm saying.

It's just the way your brain works. In high pressure sensory situations your brain mostly puts the field on the back burner. How does it do that? Color. So now you have a uniform that's the same colors as the back-burner and you end up focusing more on the defender. The ball will follow your POV. 1 foot can make the difference between a good and bad throw.

    Pretty basic shit here folks.

Orange & white unis worked great for Vinny...... too bad his best performance was throwing to dudes in green jerseys.

You starting early with the pre-game beverages today?

It's not the mystery cure-all. Colors can't overcome stupidity.

This is football not a science project. Only Vinny Testicles could use that excuse because he was colorblind. The helmets are differnt colors and the tagets are moving. Mr. Wizard, you need to concentrate on other things than trying to bring science into this game. Your facts may be true, but come it's a stretch to blame these occurences on that.

Maybe you missed the part where I said it was just an edge. Your moving target only solidifies my argument.

Are you saying science has no place in football? It's swimming in science. But why would I expect someone with the calvin-pissing avatar to be able to process a logical thought other than if you don't open your mouth, the beer won't make it to your stomach.

I see what you're saying but that's pretty far-fetched. The uniforms are darker than the field, plus they have white, and the targets are moving. A qb would grow accustomed to picking out his players just through repetition. If we wore the same colors as our opponent then it might be an issue, but it's not b/c we never will.

So you want us to change our uniform colors to red? That hasn't helped KC out all that much this year.

I can see the point of this. But I don't see it happening. A good QB can overcome the color issue.

    White Helmets

This is why Parcells changed the helmets from green to white, iirc

Agreed, it can be overcome but it takes just that little bit more of focus to do it. I'd say its more of an advantage than bringing in some guy off a practice squad for a week.
