    Your averaging 3 TD's a game.

Tell me, when was the last time the jets did that.

You really need to stop comparing Favre to Pennington. We got rid of Penny because he couldn't get it done anymore, period. To now compare Favre and say, "Well, he's better than what you had," is sheer folly.

We traded for a QB who could get us the wins after building an otherwise solid team in the offseason. There is now no freakin' way that we should be saying, "Well, Favre is a little better than Pennington, so be satisfied with that."

No way pal. This guy needs to step up just like every other swinging dick and own up to his mistakes. STOP THROWING USELESS, SENSELESS PASSES and start using your freakin' head to make smarter decisions!

As usual, you bring logic to the board... I agree! Good post!

There's a reason why the Jets braintrust let Penninton go without so much as a 6th round draft choice in return. Chad was damaged goods. No one in the NFL wanted him (save for the 'Fins, who were 1-15 the year before and had nothing to lose)...

The reason pennington is good is because teams are scared of that dynamic duo in the backfield. When you have players like ronnie brown and ricky willams, teams will watch the run, especially when you have mr. noodle in the bak.

The key stat in this is the attempts. Miami has ran the ball 14 more times than we have. We have got to run the ball more.

i think we let him go because of cap room and that his bonus or something was coming up...so we had to act fast and other teams knew that, so they played the waiting game.

It was not much of a waiting game. We had only X amount of time to clear cap room for having signed Favre. With his salary it was a forgone conclusion that he'd be the guy packing his bags. You don't pay Penny that salary with a HoF gunslinger on the roster.

Needless to say though, Pennington is quietly and efficiently proving the naysayers wrong about him being done in this league. Even I didn't expect the level of success he's having with Miami. I expected him to need a better team than that around him for him to be successful.

Most of that has to do w/ 2 games- garbage time at SD and the LONE great offensive game we had vs. Arizona. This offense has been bad no matter what Favre's #s tell us. 11 INTs through 7 games is awful and negates alot of the good that his TDs have brought us and I haven't even mentioned the fumbles. He has 15 TDs and 13 turnovers and most of his TOs have been bad TOs.

-at Miami on 1st and 10 at Mia 24 he fumbles likely costing us points.
-vs. NE throws 1st INT deep in our territory down 6-3 in the 3rd which set up NE's only TD.
-at SD we have 7-0 lead thanks to our D and he gives it right back w/ an INT for a TD and his 2nd INT set up a TD so that's 14 points courtesy of INTs.
-vs. Cincy his fumble was picked up for a TD, his 1st INT was picked off in the EZ costing us points, 2nd INT was also in Cincy territory possibly costing us more points so we had to sweat out a W against one of the worst teams in the league at home.
-at Oak 2 1st INT was in the oak EZ costing us points(we sure could have used more points since the game went to OT) and 2nd one set up Oak in great FP but luckily our D stepped up again.
-vs. KC 2 INTs just wasn't good enough anymore so he had to raise the bar to 3 agaibst one of the league's worst teams. Our D had little problems w/ KC the 1st 2 drives then Brett set them up in great FP w/ an INT and next thing you know we are tied at 7. His 2nd INT would have been fine if it was 3rd down b.c it was like a punt and his 3rd INT gave KC the lead w/ a INT retunr for a TD so we had to sweat out a W in the final minute against an awful team.

You can make all the excuses you want the fact is he has played terrible football and held us back. We SHOULD be 6-1 and at worst 5-2 but instead we are 4-3.

Yep D's are scared of the Miami duo who have been worse than our duo this year- are they bcared b/c of reputation? Brown and Ricky had 2 good games out of 7.

We should run the ball more but 14 more carries is 2 more attempts a game not a huge #.

You guys are correct why we released Chad. We had to for cap purproses so why would teams give us a pick for nothing?
