Yes. I think we CAN beat the Bills. I'm not very confident we WILL beat them, but I think we definitely CAN. So being in first next week is not an outlandish possibility. Holding onto first after that, though, may be (looking at the following few games on the schedule). I really had thought we'd have at least one more win at this point, and at least one "statement" game (pretty win). One short on both counts. Oh well, next week is the chance to make up for falling short to this point. Then we need to prove we can keep doing it, facing some of the ultimate tests of that ability.
have we been transported to an alternate reality where overall record isn't the first determining factor in the standings?
Darksider reporting for duty. What the hell has this team shown you this year that makes you think they can go into Buffalo and beat them? The Answer: NOTHING Take off the green glasses and put the pipe down, because you can hope all you want, but this team hasn't earned shit this year as far as trusting them to play to their capability...
Who knows? The Dolphins got humiliated by the Ravens, then beat the Bills. Obviously Buffalo will be favored next week, but....
what makes the bills such an unbeatable team? for one they havnt had the hardest schedule and second ther only one game ahead of us! yea i agree we cant play like we did the last few weeks but i mean come on guys wer talkin about the bills lol
Jets won today, Bills lost to the Dolphins. Did we play like shit today? Yeah, time to rebound and take control of this division. Next week is huge. We HAVE to win, must win game.
The Bills just lost to the Dolphins by double digits, even with the Wild Cat offense, and therefore the Dolphin running game, has basically been figured out. They're good, but they're beatable. Is Roscoe Parrish back for them? He could be a problem if he is. If not, I'm not particularly afraid of them. They're better than us right now, but I don't think the gap is that big.
I'm a Bills fan and after what I saw from Buffalo last week, the Jets can defeat the Bills no doubt. It just depends on who wants to play their game. If the Bills coaching staff plays scared and the D plays asleep, Favre will have another Arizona-like game....
Sweet, that bodes well for us. Sounds like your coaches are just as inept as ours. That means it'll probably be an ugly as hell game and somebody will just barely win it. I like that much better than if you guys are coached well, because then we'd just get blown out.
<<<<<<<<<< We always do struggle in Buffalo but what does that mean? This is a new team and new year, its not some magical place where we cant play well. From what I remember when I was up there for school Peney had a really hard time. He threw a lot of ints and our line couldnt get any type of ruinning game going. This year will be different.
Bills fan here. Look, I'm a realistic Bills fan. You should all be realistic Jets fans. I used to live in the city and all of my Jets fan friends were more level headed than you guys are acting about this. It comes down to this. Buffalo has played a bit of an easier schedule. The two most impressive wins so far have been at Jacksonville and at home vs. San Diego. Remember that Buffalo only won their game against Oakland on a last second field goal. Whether SD's record is as good as it has been in previous years is irrelevant, they are still a good team, rivers runs a great offense, and really their D is better on the field than they have been on the stat sheet. Buffalo has won games they were supposed to win, minus the Dolphins game. I actually predicted a loss against Arizona, just didn't expect it to be so much of a beat down! Now, I think this upcoming game pits two relatively even teams against one another. An up and coming QB against a proven vet will decide this game, IMO. Edwards was a surprise from the start for us Bills fans - if you remember, he was a luxury pick for us in the 3rd round last year and that luxury pick has paid dividends. Brett Favre was a stupid trade for the Jets, honestly. How many years do they expect to get out of him? Would you honestly want to groom Clemmons and Ratliff behind him when he's such a rouge and the Jets tend to play a more conservative style (minus the Brad Smith factor - great game changer you guys have there)? Can Brett Favre guarantee a SB win this year? No, then what was the point?? He won't be back next year. I do think it was better for Pennington to get out of NY, though. A change of scenery was obviously good for him and he's playing at his usual highly efficient level for Miami. So which QB shows up for Buffalo? He won his first start ever vs. the Jets in Buffalo last year, but then couldn't get anything going against them in New Jersey one year ago yesterday (that game was oct. 28th - I only remember because I was there and I also got my dog that day...). JP Losman had to come in and throw a hail mary prayer that should have been intercepted to seal that Bills win to sweep the series. Brett Favre can come out and straight up win or lose a game for a team. Which Brett Favre will show up. This is a battle of QB's, regardless of their own personal experience. It will be the deciding factor. I also pray that Terrence McGee is back to 100% and that we get our nickle corner Ashton Youboty back. Otherwise it will be a long game. Favre would be smart to exploit us with slants and screens all day long. If they can do that, the Jets win hands down. That's what's been eating us up as of late. Here's to an injury free bitter divisional rivalry game. The Jets/Bills games have been the tough divisional games for the Bills of late. I won't even throw in the Pats cause we haven't beaten them in years...
I don't think anyone here doesn't want the Jets to win, but the Old Stiff playing QB needs to protect the ball or we won't win.
