Saints are a cheap team someone will trade for that 2 spot to grab a QB. They know they can get a good OT in the second round, they have to fill alot of holes to be real good. Saints will trade out the 2nd spot and grab AJ HAWK. An offensive tackle in the second and grab a corner or safety in the second as well. We are getting mario. Unless the saints have no one to trade with which i doubt then they might take mario williams. But i doubt someone will not trade to the 2 spot for a QB.
Ihope he drops to us and is a jet on draft day. Our D would be set for years. The only player on the entire D that would be over 30 is Kemo
What a stupid thing to say. They meet with a bunhc of guys, Brick was there before. Why doesnt that mean that we are going to draft him by your logic? You should have made a thread letting people know that Mario was in town for a visit, not that it is looking more and more likely that we are going to draft him. I usually dont complain about threads but some of them lately are getting ridiculous. Give me a break with this shit, all you have is an opinion based on him coming to town, each team is allowed 30 prospects, that doesnt mean they are drafting each one...use your head
if we got all the players that we invited in to come visit...you might as well hand us the Lombardi...good point BD
is the guy gonna produce as many sacks as Dwight Freeney? if i remember right, Freeney slipped out of the top 10 overall when he went to the Colts, which was crazy. i'd still rather have Leinart or D'Brick. I don't understand the hype for Vernon Davis. Same with Kellen Winslow. I would never, ever draft a TE in the top 5. It's just not that important a position.
the saints are sold on mario williams. they are going to take him at what ever cost at this point. meaning they wont trade out of the spot unless they are guaranteed getting him.
hope you're right. but how is it that you know this? are you friends with the Saints' decision-makers? Mario supposedly isn't so stout against the run, and they say he's "not a good fit" for the 3-4, whatever that means.
herm and bradway...God, i'm so glad i don't have to see Herm looking clueless and squirming like Joe Walton in the 4th quarter any more.
Cone of Silence Hofstra is at defcon 4, complete lockdown at this point. We can all theorize day and night as to who will become a Jet at the 2006 draft. If it makes your life a little better, then by all means guess away. That said, I am not going to make a "player" prediction but obviously the Jets have some player needs. The most obvious is O-Line with a mass exodus - Mawae, Fabini and Goodwin (and MacKenzie the year before). Students of Parcells are schooled on the ultimate importance of the big guys up front. If I were betting on anything in this draft it is that the O-Line will in some way be addressed on Day 1. Count on at least one. The Cones of Silence will be in full effect until that 4th pick comes up.
I hope that Mario is available for us at 4, but there is a good chance he might go at 2. Where did you hear Mangini talking about Mario? He rarely says anything about any player.
With the recent rumor of the TItans going for Young instead of Leinart...which i think is TOTAL BS and a smokescreen at anything...I would say its more of a lock that Leinart is a JEt than it is that Williams is. No one knows what the Jets are going to do...not even until the draft day. The Jets could surprise us with a trade up or trade down, depending on what happens with the 1 overall, and what the rumor is the Saints and Titans will be taking. If we had just lost that last game against the Bills, we would have 3 overall and LEinart would basically be a lock! Dang you Justin Miller.
Ummm, who says Mario will be available with the 4th pick? And since Mangini is stubborn, he's going with the 3-4 and Mario won't be as valuable to us.
The comments I see are ridiculous... With Mario we're set for years? You mean like we were supposed to be with Abraham and Ellis? That's really fine prognostication. Penny Quarterback of the future? Sure, there are about 5 guys that are bluechip. One of them happens to be D'brick, who I'm betting money on us taking. I'd be happy with Mario, but I don't see him as a 3-4 guy. The draft is fickle lady, and frankly history has proven that we don't know anything in anyone's mind past MAYBE the first pick, and Houston would be foolish to pass on Bush. We could have D'brick, Mario, or Leinart. Let's rest our weary minds until draft day.
Chill dude, its only a thread...im sure im not the only one that is voicing my opinion and there was facts behind it i never said that the jets were going to draft every p they meet with i just said that he is a Mangini type guy and if you watched jets nation then you could hear mangini talking about only getting "his p s" and Williams seems like a Mangini p . There is no need to get all up tight about anything, if you dont like it just skip over it.
