On Air Response to question given to him in the Announcer's Box about the product he sees on the field (where FAVRE had just thrown again into double coverage on third down and missed badly, getting hit HARD in the process):

"It's not just the QB. There is an overall-concept problem with this team."

LOL. He doesn't give a sh!t. He knows it just needs to be said. Live, and on-air.

Thats cause Joe Willie is the fucking man. Pony up the cash and let him own the team.

Coaches club PSLs now includes women and booze.

The only man to gain respect to this franchise just told the world that the Coaches suck - I'd listen to him.

I wonder when the fans will realize just WHY Farve was obtained. It wasn't for a SB run, it was to sell more PSL's.

JWillie won a SB. I wonder if either Namath or Hess sold their soul to Satan to make it happen..

Everybody knows this team has its head up its ass.

Mangini is too young and inexperienced to be an HC. Especially when your freaking QB is older than he is

To be fair, I think favre was older, or almost older, then his coach in GB.

Anyways, my respect level just rose a little for Namath. Instead of taking the copout, and blaiming it all on Favre, he goes ahead and says there is a concept problem in general with the team.

Aka, the coaching staff just isn't getting it. They don't know how to use their run game properly, and they sure as heck don't set things up to play to Favre's strengths. Defensively, don't get me started.

Namath may be on to something. I hope espn picks up that comment and runs with it.

Are you sure that is why we got Favre? I mean afterall, it couldn't have had anything to do with duck-wing, the noodle-arm, low velocity armed Chad Pennington being toast, done, finished... could it?

    exactly packer.

he deadpanned it, didn't parse his words.

someone isn't getting it is the insinuation.

    that's coaching.

    concept = system = mangini

    follow the drip

I don't have the game here, but I keep tabs on the internet... did we just give up an INT for a TD from the redzone???

Yessir. To Farve's credit, he did try to trip the guy 50yds downfield but missed. Alot to ask of a 39year old legend isn't it...

Sorry, off-topic.... Clemens isn't ready and I don't believe he ever will be. The other two guys aren't ready. Ratliffe maybe soon.. hopefully one of the two of them turns into something.

Granted, landing Favre would not hurt sales one bit though. There is something to that argument.

"I wonder when the fans will realize just WHY Farve was obtained. It wasn't for a SB run, it was to sell more PSL's."

Hmmmmm, I smell a rat covered in baby powder. Not only was Farve obtained to garner phony interest in a pathetic organization and sell the PSLs, that's the reason why the new stadium is being built. Let's face it, what's wrong with the original Giants Stadium? Is it crumbling to pieces? It is still a great stadium by any standard.

I mean, weren't you more than a little suspicious when those mainstream media sellout shills (dumb ass jocks and analysts combined) had this huge lovefest with an overrated QB who has managed to win only one Super Bowl with an outstanding Packer team? Why do you think the Pack gave him his walking papers? They knew damn well that this washed up 39 year old was shot. They must be laughing like cazy over in Green Bay.

As long as there are suckers out there who are willing to give away their hard earned cash to greedy pig elitest owners, nothing will change. Even if the Jets were a championship caliber team (ha! ha!), this PSL thing is basically a SCREW YOU to the fans by the ownership. That's the appreciation you get from these pricks for throwing your money away on absolute garbage all these years - a nice PSL tax.

If Favre had an decency, he would retire immediately, forfeit the rest of his salary and take his sorry ass back to Louisiana. Oh yeah, and he should take his overpriced #4 replica jerseys with him. The gig is up - the Brett and Woody Dog and Pony Show has finally been exposed for what it is - a huge cash grab on the Jets fans.

As long as football fans remain drunkard idiots who are more than willing to throw their hard earned cash away for amateur third rate entertainment, they will continue to be used and abused by the powers that be. We're heading into major economic troubles and people are still willing to throw tens of thousands of dollars away so they can eat burgers, sit in traffic for hours, travel on lousy public transportation and deal with intoxicated idiots. Thanks, but not thanks Woody.

You can take your amateur peewee team and shove it where the sun don't shine. And after you do so, throw some of your baby powder on your fat ass so you don't stink up the joint.

Joe Willie is the man! He knows this team is run by a bunch of idiots, from top to bottom. This organization has one goal in mind - to exploit their fans. I never thought I'd say this, but I sure do miss Leon Hess.

    Well said

If the Jets got Favre because they thought he could lead them to the SB, Mangina was delusional. If they got him for PSL interest, they're brilliant

Namath knows what he's talking about. If anyone can say anything about a legendary QB like Favre, it's another legendary QB like Namath.

i wouldn't take it that far.

they thought favre was an upgrade over chad, who had whipped Clemens in that camp battle. and he likely is. it doesn't matter.

they were totally committed to moving into a post-chad era, and they were also dead set on not going into the season with Clemens.

    Enter Favre.

    This is true

They wanted to put their stamp on the QB position and they were likely pretty pissed that Clemens wasn't showing anything resembling being a NFL QB. They clearly wanted to move on and thus they went after Favre.

You know, I was sick of Chad's duck passes too. But he is playing pretty well in Miami. So you can't say he is totally done.
