I was certain that Feeley would miss the 52 yarder to tie it at the end of regulation and in shock when he made it. He had a couple of bad games to start off, but maybe he's getting comfortable and getting his confidence back? I'm starter to wonder if we should stick with Feeley. What do you guys think?
i cant trust feeley just yet. he did make a big kick though (although he missed the 1st try at it) what is up with nugent?
I think Nugent's feelings are still hurt from the kick he missed in week 1. Feeley said he heard the whistle and just fired a test kick.
Nugent by a mile. Nugent's feelings hurt? I think he's a kicker and he realizes that kickers miss kicks sometimes.
Go with the hot hand. Feeley has been good the past few. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. I heard the whistle prior as well.
I change my answer to this one. Kickers are like the relief pitchers of the NFL...hot hand isn't a bad philosophy.
I think everyone knows where I stand on this issue. I think Feely would get even more comfortable kicking the ball knowing he doesn't have to look over his shoulder.
I am going with Mike Nugent. Jay Feely made one great kick, as a kicker should, he is not reliable though. Neither is Nugent, but I am willing to give the 2nd round pick one more time.
Nugents probally gonna come back and be a little sore and rusty from not kicking since the first game of the season. Feely has been good so far let him ride it out until Nuge is 100% and ready to go.
Wow that's awesome, if he wouldn't have tried the test kick then we wouldn't have tied the game and went into overtime. I still like Nugent and think that he's a good kicker so its hard to choose one over the other, but I would lean towards choosing Nugent just because I think that he's been really great in the past and I'm still not sure that Feeley is a quality kicker. That miss during the Patriots game was horrible and it did take him two tries to make that 52 yarder...
I was gaining confidence in Feeley after he kicked well against Cincy. I thought he had a shot and when he missed off the post I was extreemly confident he'd hit the 2nd one after Oak called TO. I DON'T think Nugent would have made either.
