Cowboys acquire Roy Williams from Lions Williams NFL Network's Adam Schefter reports that the Cowboys have acquired Roy Williams from the Lions for "at least" one first-round pick. Because the one thing they are missing is a diva wide receiver. This move smacks of desperation on the heels of an ugly weekend in Dallas. Williams' contract ends after this season, so the move only makes some sense if they extend his deal. just saying that owens already isnt happy with crayton on the other side of the field....theres no way hell be happy now. that coupled with rad brad johnson throwin them the ball. plus with the other injuries they have suffered and pacman getting suspended, seems like this team is going to implode.
And in other news...the Redskins sign Shaun Alexander. Posted: October 14th, 2008 | Adam Schefter | Tags: Jim Zorn, Shaun Alexander, Washington Redskins On the trade deadline day, the Washington Redskins made headlines of their own without trading a player. The Redskins signed former NFL MVP running back Shaun Alexander to a one-year deal and punter Ryan Plackemeier. Both players will be reunited with Redskins coach Jim Zorn, whom they worked with in Seattle.
Whoa...potentially multiple first round picks? Eh...makes sense...Williams is young and they have a ton of young players to lock up...Canty...Ware...James...Barber if they want...whoever else. Great move for them. Gives them a guy who will play sick *with* TO, and then a viable candidate to produce after TO is gone/retires/w.e happens.
I believe they signed Barber the day the CBA was abandoned by the owners' union. But the fact remains, they will need to sign Williams to a new deal, too. Just add him to the list, Jerry.
Bout damn time. I been calling this for a year now. Certainly brings even more to their extremely potent offense. If eam had trouble covering Owens and Witten, I can't imagine the potential with Williams in there. But then again, Romo needs to stop sucking 50% of the time.
