Jets' defense was not very bad, just on the field all the time.

    DT....needed for stuffing the run.

    Offense was terrible.

A whole lot of help needed.

QB.....#1 needed...{Vince Young} ......So Ramsey can be #2; Chad can't be counted on ...at this point. Bollinger is capable #3...

RB.....Martin & Houston. 3rd back can be anyone. Speed back would be a nice addition (Drew-UCLA).

FB.....Askew as back-up..... big blocking FB needed

WR....Coles, Cotchery will get alot of action......McCArriens must show he wants to play pro-football. Big play WR needed to stretch the field.

TE....Baker....Jolley....Driessen.....As a unit, they must all improve, get stronger & become more accountable.

    C.....Starting center needed...{Manigold}...hopefully & a capable back-up. Kendall acts like he's ready to retire.

G.....Moore is the best of a bad group. He needs to get stronger & display more.......everything. Much help needed here. Hopefully 2 new starters.

T.....Adrian Jones....Young player that must show that he wants to be a great player. He must get stronger & work harder. Too small to play RT, might be suited as 1st back-up off the bench as tackle position. Again, hopefully 2 new starters.

Here's an interesting sidenote ::: Jets' were last in there division in Special Teams, punting & Kicking. Though Jets' were improved last year, especially in punting game, they were still statisically last in there division (AFC EAST).

Jets' defense was strongest part of team in '05' season & Donnie Henderson
got little credit for keeping what "little life" was in Jets' alive last season.

Not trying to rain on your parade or anything like that, but I don't see any stats here. Looks like your opinion to me.

NOt being a jerk, but the thread title was "looking at the stats"

That looks as if you wanted to break down the stats...But instead you gave your opinion on each postion...And you should probably try to spell all the players' names correctly...

Pete Kendall and Adrian Jones would both do better at guard than Brandon Moore IMHO.

    I agree with you......

about everything but QB and Jones. There is no way we take Vince Young. My feeling is that we'll go into the season with Ramsey #1, Chad #2 and Bollinger #3. Jones is going to RT if he stays in the starting lineup because we're getting D'brick.

For being a Jet fan you sure like to point out the downfalls of our franchise..

It also would have been nice to mention our injury problem last year..

    Pennington,Martin,Fiedler,Vinny,Mawae,Baker,Barton,Blaylock,Chrebet

3rd string QB passing with Martin running on bad knees and an OL that was beat up..

When you lose key people on your offense I guess I can see why we sucked at getting the ball in the end zone..

The defense was bad last year. They started out OK, but overall they were a disappointment. How many games did we play where the D came out first, and couldn't get themsleves of the field? Happened way too often to use the excuse of the O leaving them stranded, and I used to say that as well. In comparison to the offense, the D was the stronger unit, but considering how awful the O was, that's really not saying much.

    You're a joke.

Blaylock is better than Houston as of now.

You say we need a fullback and Askew is gonna be a backup, but let me askew who we're going to draft in what i'm assuming to be late rounds that will prove to be better already?

1st....Houston is a better back than Blaylock.

    2nd....Position needs to be upgraded.

    Great point!

Blaylock was injured most of the year, while Houston gets to go in there against the Raiders, who can't tackle.

All I'm saying is don't rule out Derrick. Houston may have a future, but if Blaylock comes back healthy, he could be more effective.
