If he's not healthy soon (Nugent) they just need to cut his ass. It's not like he's a great kicker anyway. Decent on mid range field goals, short kickoff. Solid, yet unspectacular.

cut nugent, he only sucks slightly less balls then feely, and both of them are really bad. nobody needs a kicker so bad that they pick him up injured.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again. I want Nuge gone. I'd keep him but continue to run with Feeley until Week 6 or 8. That's when Tynes is back to being 100% for the Giants. Then wait eagerly to see who it is they cut. I could be wrong here, but my guess is they cut Carney because (and this is where I could be wrong) they gave Tynes a contract extension at the beginning of this season.

And it's not like the Giants can trade either one of them because it'll be after Week 6. However, if they roll w/ 2 kickers, we might get fucked out of luck. At that point, we'll just roll with Shit-For-Leg Nuge.

"Although Mangini noted that Mike Nugent was “close,” and pointed out that Nugent had cleared some level of his recovery but that he wasn’t completely ready to kick. Mangini made a point to say that he didn’t want to rush things, only to let Nugent be sidelined for a longer period of time later. So at the present, look for Feely to kick this weekend, but that Nugent might be waiting in the wings for a comeback this month."

    Interpretation:

Nugent has developed nervous tics throughout his body. The massive doses of anti-depressants have seemed to exascerbate the condition.

We are increasing his psychotherapeutic sessions to 4 times a week from 3.

There was a day last week when he did not throw up. We find this encouraging.

We are in touch with the best psychiatrists in Europe and they have assured us that there is a reasonable probability that he can overcome his neurosis by the end of the month.

i too am hoping to get whichever kicker the giants end up cutting. i would assume carney to be a goner when tynes is back. wouldn't they just have cut tynes if they were gonna roll with carney all year?

    Yeah, he could play QB.

I don't care who kicks, just make the ones you should make.

Giants to give Lawrence Tynes five-year, $7 million contract

    On another article...

Knowing that Tynes got a new contract at the end of last season, leads me to believe that obviously, he will not get cut. However, I also don't think it's a good move to cut the kicker on the roster that has been in the zone so far this season. Therefore, I wouldn't put it past the Giants if they roll with 2 kickers until Carney start struggling in the cold weather (he played indoors with the Saints last year).

None of this bodes well for us--if that's even in our plans--I guess we should keep Noodle-Leg on the roster until further notice.

How about we guess on how close they'll miss from. 28 yards? 31 yards? Xtra points are worth double...

What is up with Nugent how long is he out for, if hes gone for couple more weeks, the jets dont want to cut him cuz they wasted a 2nd round pick on him.

My thoughts exactly. Don't even bother kicking it unless it's at the end of one of the halves.

Come on Nuge, let's get it together. You have had long enough. For a non contact injury you sure are milking it.

Although Jay Feeley hits alot harder than Nuge, too bad he can't kick!

Well we all were crying to get Feely after game 1. We got him now. It looks like were stuck for another week of shitty kicking until Nuge gets back and then a couple of more weeks until we cut him and get a kicker...... Thank god the schedule is fairly light.

Feely appears to be better at Kickoffs than Nugent, so that is good. However, wasn't Feely supposed to be automatic from <40 yards? He just flat out SUCKS at FGs. What happened? Maybe he's just adjusting to whatever a K needs to adjust to.
