It depands on who we get at #4 and #29. If we take D'brick at #4 - Lawson, Howard (I think he had the fastest 40 for LBs 4.4 at 6'3'' 240) then Carpenter If we get Williams at #4 - none at #29 and Howard if he is at #35 (but would rather get someone who handles the ball).
im assuming we should be tryna replace pass rush.. lawson brings a potential dominent pass.. rushing OLB. with the athleticism to become a great OLB while gaining experience. he reminds me alot of peter boulware
Virginia Tech?s Lawson could flip the switch for Browns Steve Doerschuk 4/10/2006 http://www.cantonrep.com
Lawson > Carpenter > Howard although Carpenter and Howard are very close in my opinion. Lawson blows them both away.
now if we decide to trade to detroit we can pick up their 40th pick. I am saying we pick up V. Davis 4.37 42 inch vert and 33 reps at 29th Lawson LB 4.43 6'6 245 brings us size versatility and speed at 35th Watson DT 335 pounds great pick up can clog the hole at 40th Howard LB 4.40 6'3 245 brings us speed and size at 74th Whitworth OT can be a solid RT at 91st O'Callahan OG can be a great RG Trading to detroit is not so bad
ok, where's our center? I don't think we need 2 LB's when technically we still have the 4-3 LB spots all filled with solid starters. 3-4, yeah, we need a pass rushing one, but it's one or the other, not both
This article shows why we're dreaming that he'll be available at 29 because there's just no way he slips. Another team that should be hot on his trail is the Cute Fluffy Pink Pixies ats_suck: who are looking for a replacement for McGinest and a guy like Lawson or Wimbley would be perfect. With everyone today in love with the 3-4 defense, perfect 3-4 tweener talents like these guys do not slip in drafts. My order is Lawson>>>>>>>>>>Carpenter>Howard
Lawson, Carpenter, Ryans, Howard for me. There are a lot of good OLBs that can go around 29 or 35, including those guys above and Ernie Simms.
howard is a good portion behind the other two it depends on what you want, if you want a more pure rusher, Lawson is the guy, if you want a more balanced leading type jack of all trades, Carpenter is the guy (he reminds me of Mike Vrabel) Quite frankly, I could see Carpenter going higher than Lawson, because Carpenter could likely be used in a lot more defensive systems for more downs than Lawson can. Both Lawson and Carpenter could be gone by #29, but somehow I think one will be there. Either of them would be a solid pick.
