During the Jets playoff lost to the Steelers, I broke one out in Bobby Hylands (White Plains) Got the whole place to chant... Frigging loss was awful. Three Steeler fans chased me down after that kick to rub some rubbing alcohol in the wound ! I think someone should replace Fireman Ed at the Home games and lead the chant.
Several years ago, I was on vacation in Vegas with three other guys. I can't remember what game it was, but was definitely a 1pm away game (that's 10am Vegas time). We were at the sports book in the NY/NY casino. We broke out the J-E-T-S chant not to far into the first quarter. There were a couple of other east coasters who were joining in with us, but it didn't take long for hotel to ask us to quite down. It didn't help that the drinks were going down quite easily too - my theory in Vegas was as long as the clock showed double digits, it was fine to get the drink on - especially on a football sunday!
last night at the bar I work at in Wellington a table of 4 ladies (use term loosely) broke out a J-E-T-S suck x3 chant out of nowhere
Chanting at bars has more to do with beverage consumption than it has to do with the actual chant. Get me hammered and I'll chant anything.
Had to bring this thread back up because I chant our chant after every score (mainly TDs I may pass on FGs unless it's a gamebreaker) . . . and honestly, I don't recall the last time I chanted it as much as I did on Sunday. Here's the rub -- many other patrons at the bar started joining me -- not only my buddies. The Brent Farge band wagoneering has begun!
Yes we do, and yes, it pisses everyone else off........ :jets::shit::beer: They now put the JETS game on in the back room (but give us the biggest/best TV)
I often have some drunk NE dickhead chant it AT me, in a mocking and derisive fashion. After which I usually congratulate him on learning to spell, asking him if he gets to ride the bus to school alone and encourage him to keep practicing tying his shoelaces. Does that count?
i bartend on sunday mornings during football and i get second hand embarassment listening to some of these idiots. a bar in the afternoon is no place for a football chant
I fell into the exception this weekend, being at a Jets bar in Baltimore, but there was definitely chanting, and it was awesome. :jets: Guess I'm not too old yet.
Well now the JETS chant is a very effective way to communicate with your fellow bar patrons, Pat’s fans just love us. I would encourage you call to go to bars that allow chanting because over time it will bring back your fellow green brothers and grow your numbers. I go to a Bar called AJ’s in Largo Florida where we host 10 to 40 jets fans each week. We have our own room / area, Jets fans only. We chant on TD’s, FG’s and at games end.
Yep No better way to get a lot of love in South Florida bars then do a Jets' chant. Then again you never know who the Fish fans have turned into this week. If you won last week they may become one of you
At the 51st state in NW, DC we do the chant... after scores and victories. It is the only NY sports bar in our nations capital.
I like to watch the games at my house....as uniterupted by life as possible. I also do the chant myself...at least there are two of us :beer:Thanks to The Future I also have a few superstitions I follow every game....but I don't want to be made fun of too badly!
We even did a chant at the end of the Houston game this past week. It was a superb weekend. Looking forward to more
Wow!!!!!!!!! I have been to Vegas tons of time, and I have never seen anyone EVER be told to be quiet anywhere. You could be drunk, stoned, screaming, whatever. just as long as you are not physically abusing someone. Especially in the books or at the tables.
