(don't ever, give up) http://www.thejetsblog.com/2008/09/24/link-dont-give-up/ apologies if this has already been posted - i didn't see it if it has.
Favre made these comments in his P.C. today. I'm happy to say that I get SNY on my satellite dish. Tons of Jets coverage all week long on that channel. Its great!
I'm not giving up to the final whistle! I know what I signed up for--a year of Brett, Mangini, and all the rest of them, and I'm with them the whole year!! And I hope no negative Brett posts on this thread. It does a dis-service to all who have gone into battle emotionally with the jets! Together in victory and defeat! ^PS--what's his P.C.?
I can't afford to stop believing... I'm going to all their games here on west coast. San Diego was a great trip..but the game was a downer. Honestly...I'm just hoping this team makes the playoff, so Brett's final year in the NFL wouldn't be a blot on his record. I'm sure Unitas felt his last year in San Diego was a waste. The same with Namath.
I definitely watch every game. Regardless of our record, I can't avoid watching even when I want to. However, my excitement and and the "can't wait until Sunday" feeling will die if we get a 9th loss. Going below .500 with all the additions we have made and acquiring Brett Favre is actually ludicrous. I agree that the team will get better, but the thing is, they were never supposed to start this slow. Granted, if we could play the NE game again we would probably win, but that does not negate the lack of performance from players who were expected to dominate....not just by fans but by experts around the league.
we beat the team we were supposed to beat, the dolphins. the patriots was poor play calling, and anyone who realistically thought we would beat the chargers in their stadium after they got robbed of a win must have been drinking the punch.
yea this season is far from over. After the bye week Favre should be fine as far as the offesne is concerned, just look at schedule it speaks for itself.
Good Post Broadway, Hopefully Brett can be "one" of the guys on this team to help bring back that winning attitude that's needed. We have seen him take a 4-12 rebuilding team to 8 and 8 the next year and 13 and 3 the following year before. Maybe if we are lucky; we will see the same type of winning attitude with "all" the Jet's players, keep Brett for two years and make a real run for it next year !!! Cheers friend !!!
Come on folks. There is much work to be done. Lets begin with better O-line play. THese guys have to get a push for the running game and give Farve a second or two to throw. If this group gels soon, we should be OK. Farve getting to know the recievers will happen. Just keep plugging away, just not to the other team. Thw defense MUST get better on third down. Nothing is more of a killer than sustained drives. The Pats killed us in this regard. THe punting job should go to whoever is the healthiest. Case closed. The return game really excited me last week and it seems as if Westoff's hand is stirring that pot. We will be facing "lesser" teams in the next few weeks. We lost to two playoff teams. Let's stick together, things will get better. Go Jets!!
