Our receivers are fine. They need more time with Favre, and the OL needs to do a LOT better than they have in the first three games in pass protection...

But our receivers, arguably, are our strongest unit, on offense or defense...

That is the LAST thing id take from this game. If you look at when the Jets had success moving the ball down the field on offense, it was when Brett through short passes and let the receivers make plays. Cotch, coles, stuckey, and keller all did a very good job breaking tackles and eluding defenders.

It came down to turnovers, which was caused by the lack of chemistry.

I like our receivers but we could use a burner. Maybe Clowney can be that guy once he comes back... I wonder if he has any sort of rapport with Favre from his one TC in Green Bay

I love the excuses, not many teams have a better tandem than Coles & Cotch but it's the receivers not the QB:rolleyes:

I've been asking for a WR every year and we pass up big, tall, fast WRs every year.

Coles needs to start producing and quit crying.

Coles is not a good WR anymore. He shows flashes but he has stopped finishing routes and his speed at least on the field is highly suspect. I was amazed he was cought from behind on that TD he had a couple of steps and was in stride.

Cotch is a real good No. 2 guy but he is not a guy that has to be doubled. Stucky looks like he will be starting soon and it wouldn't surprise me to see Coles in the slot down the road.

Coles looks like a shell of the player he used to be. So typical that a Jets' player goes down the tubes after getting a new contract. I agree that our WR corps is pretty pedestrian and needs to be one of the areas to upgrade next offseason.

Wasn't Keller supposed to be the solution to this problem this year?

Coles has never beena breakaway guy, he has a great 40 time but that never translated to the field. i can rmember him as a rookie getting caught from behind in Buffalo. Both of our starters are #1 WR material, no they aren't Randy Moss or TO but they are good #1s and not many teams have a better starting duo. Their production the lst 2 years has been very similar to Driver & jennings w/ major difference being the GB duo was playing w/ a future HOFer while last year we had awful QB play.

Could never understand why he can't get deep with all that speed, also thought he could have fought more for the ball on the INT for the TD

I thought Cromartie was all over him, it would have been a flag if that was our defender. It looked like Coles was caught up looking for a flag and forgot about trying to break it up.

People forget that's who he is. he stood and watched the critical Tory james INT at oak in the '02 div playoffs. We forget when he's playing well but when he's not those things get magnified.

hard to tell once he got his finger on the ball he can kill him. Its a bang bang kind of play. Coles can't give up on that play waiting for a flag.

You have to respect the size of the SD recievers and the guys in the secondary. We looked like smurfs on both sides yesterday and were out physicalled all night on both sides of the passing game with the exception of the Barett INT.

hysterical how many people on this board think our WRS are so good. Its laughable. Our receivers do not get open enough! Why dont we throw the ball downfield like everyones always pleading for? Because they are not open!!! Coles is a complete bag of shit at this point and Cotch is a "nice" receiver. Thats it. Just like at runningback, we do not have any elite, big play receivers like a Boldin, Owens, Moss, Wayne, Fitzgerald, Edwards.....the list goes on and on....but we aint got one.

Yet w/ no running game and worse WRs Chad led us to 10 wins 2 years ago. Our Wrs are very good, at least the starting duo.

these are teams with better starting tandems:
    pats
    colts
    steelers
    browns
    bengals
    broncos
    cards
    atlanta
    saints (with colston)
    panthers
    pack
    lions
    boys
    giants

i wouldn't say we've got a really good starting 'tandem'
