3 penalties by the Chargers defense as we try to convert the 2 point conversion. We keep moving half a distance to the goal.

We are about, what, 6 inches away from the endzone, and we PASS IT?

I know we all wanted to see more passing plays, but come on. Where is the logic in that?

The odds of a QB sneak NOT working there are very slim.

I don't care if the game was over at that point, I can not WAIT to hear about that playcall.

Just one more reason Mangini needs to go.

Seriously, my cat could have sneaked in on that one!!

I would have thought QB sneak.

But i think they did not want to risk injury in a game that is lost.

    Injury?

He's been sacked 3 (or was it 4) times tonight. I think he would have been fine running it not even a yard away.

The fact that Favre lined up in shotgun formation with 5 wide nearly an 8th of a yard away from the end zone is ridiculous. Horrible play call.

The alignment more than the play call is what bothered me too.

I'm not going to second guess the call to pass it, because if they had run it straight ahead and been stuffed, I'd be pissed.

But you need to at least show the threat of a run. Throw the QB under center and put a back or two behind him. The endzone is not very large- if the defense KNOWS you're not going to run, it's a very easy area to drop 6 or 7 guys into and defend.

Seriously. I know we brought in Favre to throw the ball. But logically, from INCHES out of the endzone, you have to let FAVRE run the ball, or atleast show the threat of running the ball.

That I understand, but who knows, there might a chance that that same call would/will be called if the Jets were ever in that situation again (in a game that isn't "out of hand")

Do you? Teams don't always try and do that. Sometimes they try to throw the defense off by passing in that situation. It is easy to second guess some of the play calling when you are sitting on the couch. Not to say we are always wrong to question it, but it is what it is and sometimes we make more out of a single scenario than really needs to be.

This is my one major complaint with the offense today. They put the ball in favre's hands and he dink and dunked his way down the field, then in need of two points, we pass from a quarter yard away. What's the matter here boys? at least bring a halfback in the game good lord...

Actually every two point conversion we ran I hated the play call, every time favre needed to hit up his 3rd or 4th read before throwing the ball. That is inexcusable playcalling, Call something that will make the guy come open with some consistency geez.....

there's a difference between being 3 yards away from the endzone and being an eight of a yard away...

Yeah, 2 and a half yard difference, but if you don't have the horses to punch it in, you don't have the horses. Hey, maybe Mangini is listening to the sage wisdom of this board and it's arm chair coaches.
