That's a good question.. seems to me like grounds for disqualification.

 

Equipment manager probably didn't have enough for those beautiful throwback/alternates they wear. Check UniWatch tomorrow.

They were originally supposed to wear them all season. According to wikipedia, however.... they changed it to a helmet decal.

 

That's fortunate. They were huge and gaudy.

 

They’re a Canadian team…they don’t like colored people.

 

frankly i don't understand why Gene gets such the recognition.... i mean a lot of former players pass from all sorts of causes... this guy gets stickers/patches all year long? one game should be sufficient.

in an era where Jake Plummer gets fined for wearing Pat Tillman's number (who died for serving his country), Upshaw gets all this....

 

ummm, his HOF career, him being the union boss - and its one of the most difficult positions to uphold... the dude did a lot regardless of his bad press.

He deserves it like Tillman did.

 

I wonder if it got in the way. If the stitching and the size of the patch irritated the players when they were on the field.
