It would be tough for Darrelle RevisDarrelle Revis to be off to a better start this season, with a game-clinching interception in Week 1 and shutting down Randy Moss in Week 2.

But it also would be tough for wide receiver Chris Chambers to be off to a better start for San Diego.

Revis, the JetsNew York Jets ' second-year cornerback and rising star, will have a challenge on Monday night when he lines up against Chambers.

Chambers might have only five catches so far this season, but if you think San Diego's 0-2 record is deceiving, so is Chambers' catch total. Three of his five grabs have gone for touchdowns, and two of them were over 40 yards.

The Jets faced Chambers over the years when he was with Miami, but last October he was dealt to San Diego. So instead of going against him two weeks ago on opening day in Miami, they will get him this week. The only difference, according to Jets safety Kerry RhodesKerry Rhodes , is in Chambers' collection of offensive teammates.

"[The Chargers are] not using him differently. He's still making the same big plays he made in Miami," Rhodes said yesterday. "I just think the thing there is you can't just gameplan for him, like you did in Miami. He didn't have as many weapons as he does in San Diego."

Revis isn't likely to forget about Chambers this week. The 23-year-old Revis was a first-round pick in 2007 and he hasn't disappointed. Last year he started all 16 games, racking up 13 passes defended.

The number of Jets who had more? Zero.

This year, though, Revis may be playing even better.

"I'm more relaxed," he said. "More relaxed and just had to settle down and be a student of the game and focus on other aspects of the game."

He must have been pretty laid back in Week 1, even when the Dolphins were driving for the potential game-winning touchdown. If Chad Pennington and company had converted there, the Jets would have been crushed. But Revis' end-zone interception on a pass intended for Ted Ginn Jr. ensured a Gang Green victory.

Last week, Revis held Moss down. Arguably the NFL's best wideout, Moss had just two catches for 22 yards. As for Chambers, he won't be easy to smother.

"He has a good combination of size, speed and jumping ability for a receiver," Rhodes said of the 5-foot-11 Chambers. "He's not 6-3, but he's a guy that plays bigger than what he is, and I think that's probably the thing about him."

The thing about San Diego is, with Chambers there is also running back LaDainian Tomlinson, star tight end Antonio Gates, quarterback Philip Rivers and others.

"It's like one of those situations like who do you stop?" Jets linebacker Calvin Pace said.

"They've got so many guys they can get the ball to, it's unbelievable," Revis said. "It's crazy."

So far, though, Revis has been up to the assignment.
