what a joke this team is. Reyes, Wright, Beltran, Delgado....all proving that last year was no fluke. Unbelievable. it took them a mere what, 6 days to blow a 3.5 game lead? an effin joke. I'm already sick of Wight's nightly sound bite on how what's going on.....sounds like last year to me.........you know they're losing again tonight. 2 effin years in a row. Randolph must be laughing somewhere.

Yep, those are exactly the names I think of when I think about the reasons for the Mets failures this year. Certainly not anyone in the bullpen. I mean it's a much better story, the Mets bats go cold for a couple of days and they're choking again! Never mind that they'd have a 7 or 8 game division lead if they had even a league average bullpen.

dude the bullpen sucks, this we all know.......

they scored 2 runs in 2 games against the Nats.the same cast of characters who couldn't get a big hit last season , can't do it again, now ,when they're needed most. What? you don't hold them accountable at all? They're the freaking heart of the team.......and they're folding collectively as a group....again. I'm not about to pin my hopes on Stokes, Ayala, Heilmann, Scho, and the rest of the clowns out there. I'm counting on the big boys to come through for once.......and they won't

by the way.....are you like always looking for an argument...... as a Met fan i'd like to commiserate with other fans....so if you want to argue go fight with someone else will ya

I'm not looking for a fight but when I see stupid comments I respond to them. There's nothing wrong with being disgusted with the team but blaming the guys that put the Mets in a position once again to have a lead to blow for their bats going cold for 2 days is pretty silly.

The offense and starting pitching have carried this team since the All-Star break, what batshit stupid world are you living in? Oh no, they've had 2 shitty games after being ungodly hot for a couple of months. You're really going to blame "the big boys" for not "coming through for once" when they've been putting up 4, 5, or 7 run leads and watching the bullpen piss it away. Like 3rd said, we wouldn't even be in a position to worry if the bullpen was as good as, I don't know, an above average AAA staff.

at the end of the season, there will be plenty of blame to go around. and if the bats continue to play like they have these two games, they will be justifiably blamed for blowing it down the stretch just as the bullpen has been for their poor performance all year long. unfortunately for the batters, this stretch of games is going to be looked at in isolation, that's what happens in pennant races, and if they don't come through, they will deserve the blame they get.

I have to agree. The collapse is all on the bullpen, IMO.

2-0 Mets!!! Solo homers by Reyes and Delgado.

    Watch at http://rookyclub.4-all.org/

    Homer, strikeout, strikeout, homer.

Martis had only given up one homer before tonight.

    Now Beltran walks.

Nothing in play. Over the fence or a walk or a K.

    23 pitches already

Church softly flies out to end the inning.

    27 pitch first.

this could be the best lineup all year with the exception of a healthy Alou on the field.

L-Millz was clearly thrown out there by Wright. I thought he was out watching it live, and the replay confirmed it.

    Bad call.

Nice that he struck Duke out, but Knight is 32 and has a total of 123 days of major league service. If he makes it to the 5th inning I'll be very surprised.

    Phillies are already up 4-0.

Nats get a fraudulent run. Milledge was out and should not have been on base to begin with.

It's Dukes, btw, not to be confused with Zach Duke.

    Knight at 37 pitches already.

Bullpens should see a lot of action tonight. *sigh*

Bad call costs the Mets a run, bad baserunning ends the inning.

    Murphy bludgeoned that

    triple makes it 3-1

Millz should've made a better play on that considering how deep he plays.

Murphy triples in Reyes on a major misplay by Milledge. It's remarkable how many major league outfielders don't realize that you should run as hard as you can to the spot the ball will be, rather than trying to time it.
