Week 1's winner, Mike Nugent, DNP. Mike Nugent, above average NFL kicker any other week, won last weeks award. See, Mike Nugent missed his first FG attempt of the season. We still won and this meant nothing in the end, to many fans this showed that Nugent was both mentally weak and was incapable of being a clutch kicker. He suddenly had to be replaced. Sadly, Nugent doesn't have a happy ending because he got hurt last weekly.

Well, congrats to Brian Schottenheimer. You're Week's 2's fall guy. Sorry things didn't go as well as you would have liked. All you really have to do is get us through the season, since our mild threats to email you about philosophy will never actually happen. And even if it did, I know you're smart enough to LOL.

I've decided to do this just because the mood swings on a Jets message board are hilarious. See, last week we all wanted Sutton fired, but Schotty had coached a great game and many said so. This week, Schotty *must* be fired because he symbolizes everything that is wrong with this franchise.

I figure that people should at least see how crazy reactionary we are.

I will also keep track of our record...who knows...if we actually do suck I'll actually mean it. 1-1.

^Hilarious--but entirely revisionist when it comes to last week--everyone was saying that the playcalling in the 4q was atrocious in week 1 and nearly pulled defeat out of the jaws of victory. This time, it was utter defeat.

the conservative bullshit has now been two games in a row, that where the anger comes from.

This time it wasn't the 4th qtr- it was the 1st half.

Thats a quote from Mangini at the post game press conference. Are vanilla answers all he is capable of giving? How the fuck do you justify running 3 consecutive times at the goal line? Obviously you got stuffed on the first two tries...maybe its time to switch it up? How about not throwing screen passes that go for negative yardage? :hackett: <---- are we going to have to change that one to Schottenheimer?

True, I would much rather he kind of sits on a couch and kind of vents to the media after the game. Tell us who's making him mad, who's doing what right and what wrong, break down game film for the fans, and so on. Maybe we could even get him to post the playbook over the internet.

Can you imagine if we did lose that first game? There'd be a mile long line of Jet fans at the GW bridge right now and Mangini would be #1 on everyone's "Coaches on the hot seat list". Looking ahead to a tough game against San Diego at 0-2 would have been a disastrous start to the season. We should feel very, very lucky to be 1-1 after the way our coaching staff has handled things.

Special Teams cost us. The FP difference was insane and the biggest factor in the game. We also missed a chip shot FG that turned out to be huge. There were 3 key plays 2 of them involving the STs. The first was after a very good opening drive to come away emtpy when Feely missed that chip shot, the 2nd was the opening drive of the 2nd half when we held them to a 3 and out and their P punts it 0 yds to push us back to the 23- HUGE swing in FP. Lastly, the Offensive PI on Cotchery. We would have been around the NE 30 but instead they call it back and we have 1st and 20. Of course in the 1st half when Cotchery was practically tackled before the ball got to him it was ok but they needed to throw the flag on nus on a close play. I don;'t know what it is but 2 straight weeks the officials allowed our WRs to be hit early w/ no calls.

And sadly enough, Sutton's unit is the only unit performing. Shotty had camoflauge on for the past couple of years in the form of a QB with a Shotty arm. There're no excuses now. 140M and a bag of talented players....it's time to put up or shut up. So far it looks like they need to shut up.

How can you find this to be anything other than a natural reaction to the obvious fact that the people that put the product on the field are showing they have no idea what to do with it? This team is disturbing.

You make it sound like Jets offense did deliver with authority last year... Ah, against the lowly dolfags did they deliver. ONCE. Other than that... it's all 3 point victory.

Ok ok... the point is not about being able to run up the score on the opponent; it's more or less the O is not daring the opposing D, always playing scared, playing not to lose. If you look at last year's games, you'd find a few games where the Jets did take the lead early on, only to falter later. I once thought the major culprit was the porous DL, but the more I look at it, the more I realize that the offensive calls weren't much better. It has to stop. NOW.
