Jets make a couple minor moves
The Jets didn?t announce any transactions Tuesday, but they did make a couple of minor moves. According to my moles, WR Larry Brackins and OL Stanley Daniels were released from the practice squad. Don?t be surprised if they re-sign TE Jason Pociask and add him to the practice squad.

Also, the Jets brought in two players Tuesday for tryouts: Former Dolphins LB Edmond Miles and rookie free agent LB Jeremy Lehman, from Illinois.

Today, they will announce the signing of PK Jay Feely. They have to make a roster move to create room for Feely. Unfortunately, I don?t have the name of the player that will be cut.

I really like Leman, Cimini spelt his name wrong. Could be a good addition for LB depth.

...and, according to jetsblog.com, Mangini stated at the start of his press conference this morning that Kenwin Cummings was cut to clear room for Feely.

Don't mind cutting Brackins. He was that Arena guy, right? He may have played well there, but he was horrendous in the preseason game against the Eagles.

when he didn't lay out for that touchdown from Clemens and then asked OUT of the game after that?! Can't believe he wasn't cut that minute.

I'm not happy about this possibility but it's a tough decision and it makes sense.

    Kenwin Cummings-LB- Jets Sep. 10 - 12:19 pm

Jets waived OLB Kenwin Cummings and signed OL Stefan Rodgers.

Cummings, a converted defensive end from Wingate, should make it through waivers to the practice squad. Rodgers adds depth at tackle.

    Should've been Murrell over Cummings

I am disappointed over Cummings being cut also. I thought the kid could play.

Murrell can be a DE in the 4-3 or OLB in the 3-4. I think that extra flexibility could have made the difference.

J Leman has "Mangini guy" just written all over him. Overachiever but highly productive in the Big 10. I hope he makes it to our PS. He'd be a good prospect for ILB, where the Jets will be thin next year.

I would expect him to go to the PS if he clears waivers. I guess it makes sense if they think Nuge will be healthy soon.

I wanted the Jets to pick him up as an undrafted FA. I really like this kid. I hope that he can actually make the squad and contribute on ST.

Leman looked like a real good player at Illinois. Any reason why he's not on a team now?
