Either D'brick, Mario Williams, or Leinart will be there at 4...why would we trade down away from that? All of those players would fill huge holes...

I say we stay at 4 and take whomever is the BPA...

D'Brick at 4 and Bobby Carpenter would be awesome...

Trade down, the more picks the better. I know that there arent a lot of VY fans. I say trade down, get the 9 pick draft DeAngelo Williams and then go from there, better yet...I say trade our 4 pick to the Broncos for their 15 and 22...If we need to throw in a 4th rounder then do it...just my opinion...also there are so many holes to fill and the more first day picks the better off we'll be in the future...there is no need to stay at 4 and draft one elite guy we need many good p s .

Mario, Hawk, even Brick, Cutler, Young will be better choices than trading down, I really like the 4 spot, and am happy to be there

JTRAIN has big man love for Vernon Davis. Dude, I know you are intitled to like him, but this organization will NEVER draft a TE that high again. Stop you plead it is getting very anoying.

If he is so good, he'll never be around at #9 for us to draft. WE HAVE TO TAKE HIM AT 4, IF NOT TRADE UP TO GET HIM!

The Detroit rumor is old and there is no credible source behind it (to the best of my knowledge it was John Clayton that it was attributed to, but I've never seen him say or seen it in a Clayton article that this trade is even being discussed). Why are we continuing to discuss this as a possibility? Let it go!

Don't you realize, we can trade down to 9, pick up multiple draft picks in the deep draft and still get the person who SHOULD be the #1 pick!! VERNON DAVIS!!! SUPERBOWL BOUND JETS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Trading down to 9 wouldn't be a idea either if we looking to target Winston Justice. Nice big RT that can step in and start right away. really anchor that ground game.

If you're going to base trade value off of that trade, you'll never make a trade. Detroit absolutely fleeced Butch Davis and the Browns.

That being said, I still think the Jets should stay at #4.

BTW, it was 7 to 6.

I live in Maryland and watched him play. He's a beast and to say who he is better than before anyone has taken a snap is premature. Yes, I know you grade out players yada yada......But I see Mario and Bush as the only two mplayers in this draft that you can say are better than Vernon Davis at this point. Some of the things he's done on the field are straight funny. Against Florida State I thin it was, he caught the ball, took one hand picked up a d back and threw him out of the way with one hand and kept running for the first down......it was freakish.

A first round of Brick and Carpenter/Lawson (whichever one is available, unlikely both will be there) would be great.

As far as trading, I know new (well its not new its been discussed 9 billion times because people just look at one teams old draft value chart that was leaked over 3+ years ago) threads bring discussion, but seriously think. To make a trade, you need a willing partner. Probably some teams will be interested in moving into the 4th spot, but you can't sit with a chart and guess/predict/hope for certain trades. It's just pointless and silly.

No brainer, trade down and get the extra picks. Then take DeAngelo at number 9.

Half your argument is ok- the other half is BS. Running fast, and being strong, DOES make you a good football player- if that wasn't the case then why would anyone run or lift? He produced very well on the field as well-- he was their number one target. Just because a guy has great combine numbers does not mean that is the only reason people are high on him. This guy can certainly play.

Also just because your strong and fast doesnt mean that you can play TE. what happens if you cant block or catch?

Gentlemen, right now, we have 5 picks in the top 100. Now unless some team just blows us out of the water with an UNREAL offer to trade up to #4, I feel that we should stay put and take the best player available. We have so many holes that the BAP, most likely, will be a position of need. Lets be patient and see what happens. We still have plenty of time until we hear the words "The Jets are now on the clock."
