Some of those physical tools have been devastated by injuries. Back in the day was a different story.

my point was...no team wanted Culpepper "starting" for them....he's a great insurance policy at backup...and there were a number of teams that were interested him for the backup role, including the Packers (Steelers were another).

Culpepper still thinks he can toss 35 TD's in a season. Which is why he snuffed out all the offers to be a backup.

The LOVE BOAT... soon will be making another run?

I could see him as a backup if he had a different attitude, but if he isn't starting he will be running his mouth in the locker room and undermining the starter. His combination of ego and stupidity is pretty formidable.

Yeah, they will get somebody for depth. Maybe off their PS. I'm just saying I think Cassell will be the starter.

Cassel is the one that knows the offense...you're right, Don...he will be the starter till he fucks up majorly, gets injured, or till the Pats find a suitable replacement that is up to snuff on the playbook.

Let's face it... the Steelers preferred Leftwich over this guy, if that tells you anything.

But Culpepper wants to start, and he just might get that chance for the Pats this year.

    Interesting wrinkle.

If we've been talking about how long it's going to take Favre to learn the Jets offense, how long do you think Culpepper, or Simms, Or anyone else for that matter, would take to be comfortable?
These guys have'nt even been in a training camp! Simms has been out for what, almost a year and a half?
Let them go after whoever they want, it won't make a difference.

let him start....Culpepper's mantra is his arm and mobility....well, his mobility is pretty much gone...and with our pass rush...Culpepper will have problems, IMO.

I hope they do sign Fumblepepper, he will have to play outside, in the cold, his little bitty hands will freeze.

There was no airport, there was no visits ... Belli was just on his weekly radio appearance .. He said "No calls, nor visits were made. We got tons of calls, but at this time we have what we have." .. Now.. I take it for what it's worth since it's coming from Belli, but it's better than Mort ..

This is laughable... even Matt Cassell is better than Chokepepper at this point. He's no where near the same QB he was when Moss played with him. I will not be surprised if Moss begins making waves now with a little blood in the water over Brady's injury. This is where we get to see the best in him.

My thoughts exactly. The locker room will implode.

what would be funny is that the media made a big deal how favre needs a transition period. if the PATSies sign pepper the media will expect them to go 16-0 on the culpepper/moss connection, regardless of not playing or new system, etc...

I think Culpepper is going to sign and that is why the others went home.

Belicheat is shrewed not stupid, his season is over, and the 2nd best weapon in the league is asking to handpick the replacement for the best weapon in the league.

It is a long season as another poster said!

It might be a long night boys

Of course Moss wants Culpepper. He knows his Super Bowl hopes are lost and he wants a strong-armed retard to throw the ball up as many times as possible to pad his stats. Moss doesn't lose contract leverage when balls thrown his way are intercepted. Please, Pats, sign Culpepper.

No way does Culpepper start on Sunday. Talk about not knowing the system.
