i've been hearing a lot lately about chad knowing our team, and us knowing him. so i ask, who will that benifet more? it will probaly balance itself out. and the team w/the better talent will win, so we better win this f'ing game. i am going to this game, and it would be a heartbreaker to lose. :jets:
The Jets have a document called "How to beat Chad Pennington" from the Patriots when Mangini left and came here. He can't make changes in his physical ability, but the Defense can make changes in the scheme.
We are going to murder him -- Unfortunately -- I love the guy. But I think he is going to get knocked the fugg out on Sunday, possibly for good. It's a real shame it has to be us.
Easy now, you might upset the oversensitive fans that come here and get upset when we say bad things about Pennington now. :finssuck:
Problem is that Chad is basically a genius. Surely, his physical skills alone did not get him this far. He's smarter than Mangini and probably smarter than Sutton...ahem... Sure, we know some weaknesses he may have but unless he was hypnotized with a "key word" that when spoken will cause him to fumble, the advantage in knowledge goes to Chad.
i 100 percent agree with EricNM above. Pennington is no idiot. Regardless of our changes, most of the time he is the smartest player on the field.. Although his arm is awful, he might be able to nickle and dime the jets.. I hope not..
I think the Jets have the edge going into the game. You don't need the 85' Bears D to beat Chad, as we have seen in the past. Favre can do so much more with the ball. Chad is a smart player but if we take away the middle hell be forced to throw to the sidelines....and we all know what that means......INT's all day baby. The Jets WILL Squish The Fish. :jets::finssuck:
This is the outcome: Chad will get hit & be taken out of game. Jets' will soundly thump the Fins'........35-14....final score.
I agree with you to some extent. Mangini used to have that book, except it was called "how to beat the Chad lead Jets team". What I don't agree is, the defense can't be changed. You can change as many looks as you like, but Im sure Chad knows each and every one of the look. He was here for 8 years and I assume he knows what our D is about. We can't change the D with one month time. So Chad has an advantage there. On the other hand, the QB only needs to 'work' according to the D he sees. Even though he has a weak arm, which everyone in the NFL already knows, he can exploit our Ds weaknesses. Chad is a good QB. He is smart and good at making his reads so expect him to be effective as a QB. He's probably not going to be doing them 5 TDs thing but he will probably put up about 200+ yds, 2TD and 1int going 25 out of 38...or something like that. He'll be sacked couple of times too but he won't turn over the ball more than once...Thats my opinion and Im pretty confident about it. So I think Chad has the upper hand if we only talk about our D and Chad. Favre will, however, benefit from the strong O-line and a very good WR/TE trio. He can and most likely will put up 250+ against the fish with 2-3 TDs and no ints while completing 65% of his passes. Lets see how it pans out.
haha you're right...i dont even think chad was that bad...just, when i see an opportunity to make fun of him, i do it (which seems to happen a lot)
