I love how everyone says Chad is a noodle arm and chad is this and that. If brett favre didnt come out of retirment, Chad would be our starting QB right now. Hes not done, and if any of you watched the fins pre-season games, he looked quite good...Were getting way to cocky for this game.
Yes he would be the starting Qb for a couple of weeks before his feeble ass got injured. He's like Samuel L Jackson's character in unbreakable for crying out loud. Extremely intelligent but anything touches him he is down for the count. Hopefully Parcell's wraps his feeble ass up in some extra pads and he plays at least half of the games for the fish this year.
exactly - once you start getting a list together of the more than capable QB's a team would rather have, CP all of a sudden is not as high on the list..... jil
I have noticed in this thread and others that a few people seemed bothered that most media idiots have the Jets picked low. If it's any consolation, the same fools had the Packers ranked the same last year. I honestly like it better when my team is "ranked" low. That way at least for a few games they are under rated.
We're talking before the surgery, right? I can't remember the year of the first surgery but its around 2005. Romo compared to Chad in 2005? Chad all the way--not even close!! Brees? What a loser before his one decent year in NO. McNabb? His talent does not even compare with Chad's prior to the surgery. Compare McNabb with Vick or other scramblers. Bulger had a couple good years but no way he runs a game like Chad. Eli Manning in 2005? You were probably saying he sucked back then. Rivers? He's getting better now but in 2005? Was your point to support my argument or challenge it? I'm not even sure.
Make the Jets pay? The Jets gave him every opportunity to come back from his injuries, starting QB jobs, stayed loyal to him even after things looked awful after his 2nd surgery... So they parted ways when a better option became available? Ok Chad.
You know, I have supported Chad for a long time. IMO he has gotten lambasted here but even after all of that I can't disagree with you here. Never looked at it that way. I'm not going to say that he is as bad as some of you have said but yeah, can't disagree
I was a big Chad supporter as well... But the Jets stuck behind him so much after most teams would of just parted ways seasons ago...They rewarded him with a major contract after 1 season. He missed lots of games with the broken wrist, the rotator cuff, and his 2nd rotator cuff... Yet the Jets still were paying him lots of money and still wanted him as "their guy." Even when he restructured, he had to earn it back in incentives, which he did. Chad has put some pretty pedestrian numbers after the 02' season...And for the money and respect he got from the team for so long, "Wanting to make the Jets pay" shouldn't really cross his mind. Oh well.
Dude I hope not. That means a nail-biter for Week 1 against a 1-15 Miami team who Kellen Clemens and Co. beat 41-13? But the Jets are known for this...Who knows.
To be fair, those are the words of the headline writier, Chad didn't say that. At least on record he's been very low key about the game, trying to say all the right things. As far as the Jets sticking with him, I think they did so not out of loyalty but because he was their best option. The minute they found a better option they let him go, something everyone involved seemed to understand.
Chad is excellent at beating bad defensive teams. We may be a bad defensive team particularly early in the season. If we aren't Chad isn't beating us.
