Ratliff and Clemens Ainge made too many poor decisions at Tennessee. He would look very good at times, but was shaky in big spots. Not tough enough.
I agree with you Revis - I don't think there's anyway we waste a roster spot on a 4th QB while running with 2 RBs. I doubt anyone takes a flier on Ainge only for the second half of the most vanilla preseason game. I think he should make it to the practice squad, and worst case, he was only a 5th round pick.
I think he definitely gets a roster spot. I agree they would never have played him he that wasn't their intent. Now, a week or two from now they may try to move him the PS but not tomorrow. It's one of the things Tannenbaum was referring to when he said they would have some odd numbers this year.
He definately could get cut he hasnt done shit in preseason and to be fair he hasnt really had a shot with the emergence of ratliff and favre. Maybe we can get his ass on the practice squad.
next year, when Favre retires again, it would be good for us to have a QB competition with Ratliff and Clemens, and have Ainge in the mix. I don't think it's a good idea to just give up on this kid.
