Ah, can you just imagine for even a second if we had Favre AND McFadden? Then what would defenses do? Play it honest and get beaten to a pulp both ways.

There really is nothing like Jet fans in the off-season. The thing that's worse is you guys have no one but yourselves to blame. It starts like this, Jets come off a poor to average season, they make some moves in the off-season, every free agent pick up is the missing piece of the puzzel, then the draft, every pick is either a sure fire future Hall of Famer, or the steal of the draft. By the time the camp opens the Jet fans are talking about a 500 record, by the time it closes it's playoffs, and the AFC title. It's like clock work every year. The Jets are a 7-9 8-8 team with an outside shot at the play-offs, it's team that did get better in the off-season, but most Jet fans won't be able to enjoy that because they would much rather dream that it's a championship team.

    First ... I'm not a "Jets-Fan" - I'm a NFL-Fan ...

Secondly, I don't recall anyone stating for a fact that this years NY Jets will be a sure Championship team, just that it has the "Makings of being "potentially" a good team" - a team that just "won't roll over" and get beat ...

Adding to (and to my view) "strenghtning" (sp?) the roster with some pretty (in theory - we'll have to wait till the season starts to see if they are "for real") good additions only "fuels" the hopes of any NFL fan to see a more "competitive" AFC East this year ...

Besides, is it not every "True Fans <insert team name here> prorogative" (sp?) to "Dream" and have high hopes for their respective teams ? - without getting "Bashed" for it ? I mean, they are Fans <insert team name here> for a reason, and have followed <insert team name here> through "Thick and Thin" for years, and for some even for decades ...

Investing yourself in a team implies hope for the future. You're building your hopes on past performance which is no guarantee of future returns. History tells us just the opposite, the Pats like most good teams have a series of runs either win SB or don't and than go into steep declines.

Reality is the Pats are years away from winning a SB, there offense was bitch slapped in the biggest game on the biggest stage by a good Giants team. The Pats D secondary is highly suspect and the linebacking crew is in decline although the draft may help slow the decline it won't prevent it this year.

The Jets are bigger, faster and much more competitive in terms of physical skill than the team we fielded a year ago. We hope it will translate and believe like any fans it will.

Your hope is based on past performance which isn't an indicator of future returns. In fact what is historically clear is teams have multiple runs at SB and either win them and go into decline or lose and go into decline. The Pats have now had a three year run of not winning while being competitive. It's just as delusional to believe that they will stay competitive as they will go into decline based on any historical perspective.

You are just as delusional as any one here. You also lack humor, intelligence or any real football knowledge. Personally I never minded trolls because most of them at least have a sense of humor and wit. You lack both and really should just go away at this point or reconfigure your act.

Everybody starts 0-0. Every season brings renewed hope. What is wrong with that?

You see all of that is based on "your" hopes and dreams. The simple fact is your going to find out how much I know about football very soon. You can cry "decline, decline" all you like, it won't change anything, as I said reality can't be argued with, which is why Jet fans love the off-season, there's no reality, anything they want can be real. Trust me this is nothing new, Jet fans have done this for years, with every player released, retired, or traded, the Patriots where on the "decline". What jet fans don't get, is that this Patriot organization is simply the best when it comes to filling holes and upgrading weak spots from year to year, if you don't understand that bu now, then you are truly in denial.

Son, and I say that because I figure you are in your late teens, Ive been watching the NFL for well over 40 years. Every team fills holes and every team goes into decline.

Nothing at all, but your missing my point. There's a difference between hoping to have an improved team and get a shot at the playoffs to beliving that the Jets are an elite team. You tell me if the Jets go 8-8 or 7-9 that there won't be tons of Jet fans calling for Manngina to be fired, instead of being happy that their team improved 50% from last year?

Do you really, even for a second, believe the Pats are as good a team now as they were last year? Are you really that delusional? They were already declining over the last 4 or 5 games of the regular season. As I pointed out to you before, they beat the Jets 20-10 in week 15 in a game where they were supposed to beat us by 80-100. You should have seen what was coming then.

Sure teams do, however your going to be shocked and very sad when you come to realize that the Patriots are not in decline. Heck the Patriots could win the Super Bowl this year and you would still be sining the decline song.

Now who looks delusional? You're team has folded 3 years in a row under the spot light of playoff pressure. Do you really feel a mediocre defensive team is a serious SB contender?

Let me ask you a counter question, If the patriots went 12-4 or 14 -2 this season but won the Super Bowl, would you say they are better, or worse than last years team?

I knew that very thought would scare you. Lets just see how it goes, you'll have time to talk about the declining Pats next off-season again.

Not everyone thinks that way. I can see 9-7 as realistic.

Let people have their hope, we are just fans hoping for the best.

That's a tough question to answer. I would probably say they were better unless the team they played in the SB had something go wrong leading up to that game. Such as a major injury. However, from a purely offensive standpoint nothing will equal that team you had last year.

That's really a "Moot point" ... The way the NFL is structured, i.e. with Play-Off games ,it will not always be "The Best Team" which wins the SB ... This reason is also why its so "Thrilling and exiting" to watch - All play-off teams have "a chance to win", regardless, because once the season hits the play-off there are NO guarantees ... If there were NE and Brady would have had min. 5 SB rings and not 3 ... ><

For all "Intents and Purposes", NE was "The Team" last season, but they lost the most important games of them all ..., but them loosing doesn't hide the fact that NE Was the best team in the NFL last season - overall ...

And should they NE go 12-4 and win the SB, I would still say last years NE team was "The better team" of the two ...

As we've seen before, looking good on paper doesn't always translate into success on the field. Though I've been encouraged by what I've seen in the preseason so far. I think the running game will be fine, I really do.

How many times did Pat fans do the same exact thing we are doing before the BB era? How many Super bowls did they win?

Your point is saying that your team has the right to dream while ours does not. You are pathetic!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

On Paper going into this season do you think your team is better than the Colts or Chargers? The Jaguars will not lose a playoff game to you like they did last year as well. Your getting weaker while the teams below you are still the same or getting better.
