I saw this happen and it reminded me of the Dennis Byrd hit. Lets hope the outcome is better for Williams.

They're reporting he has regained movement in his arms and legs.

I just saw the hit again and realized it didn't happen how I thought it did. The guy came down on the back of his head, I though his head went into the guy and snapped back when I first saw it.

He's fractured a vertebrae. While Doctors say he will walk again his NFL career is most likely over.

Every time I hear something like this, my blood runs cold. I'm sure he won't be too concerned over his career when set next to almost being crippled for life (shudders). GWS.

glad to hear Williams is going to be ok in the long run. Scares the hell of out you to hear these stories, and it's things like this that made my mother never let me to play football when I was a kid.

It's great to see he is going to walk again.

yea i was watching that game and it was really nasty.

I usually don't like to take the wuss road but with the spinal injuries seem to be more commonplace. I've seen at least 3 in the past 2 years, and don't recall others except Dennis Byrd; which wasn't ST. I think they do have to do something about the Special Team hitting. I don't know what could be done though.

I'm just relieved the kid is not as seriously injured as originally thought and seems like he will regain his function.

Yeah they are saying will never play football again. At least he will be ok long term. Hopefully being from a small school he has some eduaction and a backup plan.

As far as ST there is a reason so many guys get injured on ST. You have to think about a kickoff. You have guys running full speed down the field and colliding with guys either standing still waiting for them or another guy running and colliding with them at full speed. I played ST as a return guy and it was pretty scary at times.

Tough break. Hopefully he gets taken care of the same way Kevin Everett was by the Bills.

At least he is walking. Like I stated previously, hopefully the NFL/Texans takes care of him, ala Kevin Everett.
