No I know, but I'd pay Rock to return as the writer for the Post to replace this obese loser who needs is spelled out for him at a press conference to write something. Boland has done a hell of job.
Actually Coles has been quoted as saying he is dealing with some personal family issues which is why he hasn't spoken to the press. He said it has nothing to do with Chad, Favre or the media. I'll see if I can find the quote.... ------------------ Okay, from Hutch's column in todays Star Ledger - WR Laveranues Coles told The Star-Ledger in a brief chat after practice that he has nothing against Brett Favre or the media but he's just working through some family issues at the moment and doesn't want to talk. http://www.nj.com/jets/index.ssf/2008/08/new_and_notes_from_new_york_je_2.html
Good find man! Amazing how CanO'Bizzaro can actually call himself a journalist. FWIW (admittedly not much) I totally agree with abyzmul on this subject. Pizza The Hutt should spend less time consuming triple bacon cheeseburgers and more time actually researching stories. We all know he misses Herm, but it's been 3 years now. At some point, he's going to have to wipe away the tears, push his fat ass away from his desk, and act like a reporter. Then again, why bother? As evidenced by responses in this thread, people will listen to what he has to say, regardless of there being any truth at all in it. Plus, he's subsidizing his 3 chilli cheese dog breakfast with JI, so as long as people pay to read his trash, he may as well keep writing it.
I also agree and found it very easy to understand the point of the post. And Erik Boland is right that's its not a big deal about Coles. You guys are just busting chops. Interviews with coaches and players are a waste of time. I turn Sirius NFL Radio off when they are on. Beat writers, excluding the Post, are much more informative.
fair enough but he couldn't have explained that from the beginning and no one would have made a big deal out of this issue.
In a Press Conference? I don't know why Coles is doing what he's doing with the media. Could be family issues. If I had to venture an uneducated guess, I'd say that a man who can't help but answer questions honestly doesn't want to be asked, "How do you feel about Chad leaving?" He would answer that question honestly and doing so would negatively impact the team. So he's being quiet for the good of his teammates. Personally, I hate when Pro athletes dance around poignant questions with bullshit, mundane responses. I'd prefer the majority of the league take vows of silence. It's certainly not childish.
He can't ignore it until he retires though so he would be much better off to say whatever it is he wants to say and get it behind him and the team. As it is now it is more of an irritation to everybody then if he just came out at said "I hate they got rid of him" which is, as we all know, what he feels.
The problem is that if he said something now, the NY media would stir the pot ALL season long. They would be printing quotes he made in August before a game in November.
So you know thats how he feels..so why does anyone feel the need to hear it. Are there some people losing sleep at night waiting to find out why he isnt speaking to the press? The only person that can truly care, with half a brain, is the writer who writes for a living. Doesnt really affect my daily routine...because I really do not need his quotes to get me through my day. Listen...Coles is a hypocrite because he left the Jets for more money. He is also a pretty smart guy because he has a qb that will not put his life in jeopardy everytime he has the ball thrown to him. Im sure its something other then Chad thats bothering him. He has been photographed laughing and messing with Favre. Abyz point was pretty simple to understand. The fat bastard of a writer feels: 1. Left out...hurt. 2. Is taking it personal 3. Doesnt really give a crap about the fan he is writing for..because the fan could give two craps why Coles isnt talking..only that Coles catches passes. 4. Is hungry.
For someone who complains incessantly about everything associated with the Jets like a spoiled child, it doesn't surprise me at all that you lay down and take this stance. I'm sure you agree with Can'O'Tardo completely.
Spot on.... when he wrote about adolescent behavior he was clearly speaking from firsthand experience.
It's really a non story. Coles was on the field in Cleveland talking with Favre the first day he joined the team. None of the rest matters at all.
now THIS IS FUNNY STUFF!!!!! i dont know when it happened, maybe i am thinking of someone else. don if i remember correctly you used to have some really good points but recently it does appear that everything is written just to disagree with whatever the point the person making the thread has.
Can'O'Lardo is what Michael Phelps would look like if he suddenly stopped swimming while keeping his normal diet.
