Lets not put any more undue pressure on the guy. Let him start out making us forget Matt Robinson first.

Jeez, I wasn't a Jet fan until a couple of weeks ago, I live in the midwest and why would anyone even want to forget Namath.

I started reading that article, and as a life long Packer fan ...and now Jet fan as well, this part stuck in my head,

"It has been 32 years since Joe Namath last played quarterback for the New York Jets, and the city has yet to fully recover."

What if Green Bay, Wisconsin is saying that in 32 years about Favre? Ted Thompson and Mike McCarthy will go down in Packer history as the biggest fools to grace titletown.

And....oh well, if that happens so be it. I want to see Favre help to put the Jets on top this season!!! Go Jets!!

I wouldn't worry about it, since the notion that virtually anyone in New York City even gives Joe Willie a second thought any more is too moronic to even consider. (And as anyone around here could tell you, I'm one of the oldtimers who saw JWN from his first game as a Jet.)

    The article is dreck.

The writer is partaking of the same catnip that he derisively says Lupica and King are imbibing. He's just taking a different angle. The Jets haven't been a "flagging franchise" since 1996. And I don't want to forget Joe Namath, just add one more name to the pantheon where he already resides.

Actually, Namath and Favre could get together for a hell of a 12-step meeting. They're both recovering alkies...
