What. An. Arm. I just saw the 2 TDs to Clowney on NFL.com, and we finally get some strong armed QBs the Jets needed for the longest time. He is a great back up QB. Also, Clowney is gonna be a good slot WR someday the way he played vs the Browns.
After one game against 2nd and 3rd stringers he's this great backup for this team and now all of a sudden Clowney is the slot receiver?
Sounds like Clowney is a lock to make the team. Who could beat him out, David Ball? It seems like there is a Dave Ball on the TC roster every year.
Clowney can't be the slot receiver. That's what made Green Bay cut him, they put him in the slot but he wasn't effective. He has to line up wide, and use his blazing speed that way. When he went up against Lowery at the Wednesday PM practice, he blew right by him but wasn't thrown to. Lowery isn't slow, he covers everyone very well, but Clowney is so fast it wasn't fair. Get Clowney wide and make him run double move routes like the one I saw, look off his route until clear, then turn back and let it fly. I think Favre's arm can get that done.
Well hopefully he earns himself a spot and can run those routes during the reg season. It would be cool if we had that deep threat every game.
I think I have the perfect nickname for Clowney as well. "U.S. Airways" Simply because well, he is a jet and as for the Clowney portion, there is no bigger joke than flying that piece of shit airline.
