On the M & M show today they announced that channel 52 in Milwaukee has received permission to televise 7 of the NYJ games live
A relative in Green Bay told me that they will be airing something like 7-10 Jets games live, I haven't seen any confirmation of this yet. Here's a story about CBS in WI trying to air as many Jets games as possible: madison.com/tct/77square/citylife/tech/299985
Pretty much. I believe in the Wisconsin Bible the first words are "In the first quarter". As opposed to "In the beginning". lol
Jets likely on local TV Posted: Aug. 12, 2008 SportsDay Bob Wolfley E-MAIL WDJT-TV (Channel 58) has not received confirmation or permission, but it seems likely the station can carry at least seven New York Jets game telecasts this season. Throw in the Sept. 22 ?Monday Night Football? game between the Jets and host San Diego Chargers, and the number goes to eight Jets games in the Milwaukee market in 2008. Since Brett Favre, perhaps the most popular player in Green Bay Packers history, was traded to the Jets, Channel 58 has started discussions with CBS Sports to bring as many Jets games as possible into the Milwaukee market. ?There is no definitive answer, but CBS is keenly aware in our interests in carrying as many Jets games as possible,? Jim Hall, general manager of Channel 58, said Tuesday. The seven Jets games that appear headed for Channel 58 are: noon Sept. 7 at Miami; 3:15 p.m. Sept. 14 vs. New England; noon Oct. 12 vs. Cincinnati; noon Oct 26 vs. Kansas City; noon Nov. 23 at Tennessee; 3:05 p.m. Dec. 7 at San Francisco; and 3:05 p.m. Dec. 21 at Seattle. Advertisement None of those games conflicts with the start times of Packers games on the same weekends. Two games ? noon Sept. 28 vs. Arizona and noon Nov. 9 vs. St. Louis ? are to air on Fox, but Packers games are scheduled to air at that those times on WITI-TV (Channel 6), so the Jets can?t be shown here. The NFL Network owns one Jets game, at 7:15 p.m. Nov. 13 at New England, but only the fraction of TV viewers who get the NFL Network can see that game in this market. The other seven Jets games are opposite Packers games. All of those are candidates to air on Channel 58. Usually, the network assigns a game to a market two weeks in advance of the game. Flex scheduling can result in changes of the start times of some NFL games beginning in Week 11. http://www.jsonline.com/story/index.aspx?id=782630
My first thought was that the NFL won't let them air Jets games at the same time the Packers are playing, but as the article points out, there are seven games that fit the criteria. The sad thing for them is they might end up seeing less games once the Jets games get moved to 4:00 for a national audience.
