Honestly, would 2 players on the Jets' offense really say that Pwnnington should be cut? They obviously know this stuff will make the paper. This has to be made up, either that or we have some really classless players. Who would have made these comments anyways? Bollinger and Kingsbury?
yea he is. There is no doubt in my mind that the players who told him to cut penny was cavka and dave yovanytivitis.(Something like that) Its the offseason, i dont know of one star player who'd be willing to deal with the media during their vacation or willing to call mark i can stop eating canizzaro especially after the way the whole jets meda thing has been going
I do have to question Canizzaro on this. The players generally treat themselves as a fraternity. They never publically or in the media say someone else should lose their jobs. They understand that the game is a business and they too could be the next guy cut. It's higly unusual for nother player to come out and say something like this.
It's easy to make up quotes - when you say unnamed sources. His mom could of told him to cut bait with chad and he puts it in print as an unnamed source. Wait till March 3rd to know the results.
Classless? Bollinger? KK? Brooks seem like that kind of guy to you? Both those guys are happy to be where they're at and have no leverage or reason for flapping their jaws. Testaverde?
I came into this thread with the hope that I would be the first one to make a fat joke. And now you've ruined it. What do you base that on?
I don't think it is a case of quotes being made up, as it may be that he's twisting what was said. I'd believe that he's taking quotes out of context before the idea he's making up stories.
I'm sure 2 guys said but which 2? I hat seeing nonsense like this, 1 is probabl someone like Abe who has pussed out repeatedly and didn't get a big deal while Chad played through pain and got his deal. I don't take any of these quotes seriously as they are probably from jealous teammates.
I just think it's iffy that these guys don't have the balls to put our their names. That either tells me that the quotes are fake, or these are scrubs that are on the practice squad at best.
I have to agree with TBird once again (this is becoming epidemic ) Cannoli Zorro should put down the chocolate covered pizza and learn some actual journalism, but I think he probably got the info from somewhere decent within the organization. Obviously, given the info available now, the Jets are all but done with Penny at this point, and ready to move on. It sucks, but we can't afford to pay him 8 million plus this year when we can't afford the guys who play 16 games every year.
Here is Canny Email address why do not you not just pose your question directly to the source? mark.cannizzaro@ny post.com
Cannizzaro I met Mark at a rock concert last year (way before all this recent drama) and he was a great guy. He also said that Chad was genuinely a good guy. So I don't think he'd say anything about Chad that wasn't true (according to his sources)...
The first post mentions Bollinger ad Klingsbury; almost forgot about Klingsbury. Bollinger at least had some heart and fire. What a sharp contrast to Ratliffe, who appears worlds better than them on their best day. Ratliffe will get some work with the starters this pre-season, but I think Clemens really needs to start looking in the rearview mirror. Ratliffe is really turning some heads and could wind up being the #2 guy.
