Wear them. I have my Vilma, Damien Robinson, Martin, San Diego Powder Blue Brees and Atlanta White Vick, but I only wear the last one for walking the dog.
Ah keep that white MV some day he maybe a NYJ who knows? We will be needing another QB in a year or 2
I'm stuck with a green Pennington and white Vilma, I'll just hang them up in the closet "retire" them, or let my girlfriend wear them. She doesn't know anything about football, so at least she can be dressed in green and white Sunday mornings. My next jersey I'm thinking a white Rhodes, or throwback Klecko.
I agree with this. Just wear them with pride. presumably, if you believed in the player enough to buy their jersey, it'd still be worth wearing them to keep their jet legacies alive. Though I gotta ask...how does one end up with a Damien Robinson jersey?
my advice if you have a real jersey that you spent good money on...Just have the nameplate changed. If you had a #24 ty law, make it a "Revis"...If you had a #51, you could always make it a Blair Phillips (although you'll be the only one on the block with one, but thats not always a bad thing). It should cost about $40 to change a nameplate, according to Gerry Cosby (the sports store in the Garden that used to outfit the NY Rangers, and who sell Jets Jerseys as well)
Was on sale just after I started following the team. Didn't know enough about players to realise this was because he was about to be released.
See, I don't get why anyone would be ashamed of a Vilma jersey. He was the defensive leader on a memorable Jets team (probably the best of this current era), won defensive rookie of the year, and will probably be remembered as one of the better Jet LBs of all time dureing his tenure here (which is kind of sad, but that's another story). No shame in repping the uniform of a player whose Jets career we can be proud of.
My wife and I have found a way to change the nameplate. I will post a pic of my Vinny..err Brad Smith.
Bryan Cox.....now there is one of my favorite Jet linebackers of all-time. Not really related, just hadn't heard his name in a while.
I had a Glen Foley jersey, but I don't know where it went. I may have thrown it out...I haven't seen it for years. I wish I still had it, that's gotta be a rarity, ha ha.
Easy Answer In 2000 , my buddy and me went to Tampa Bay game and burned Keyshawn's Jersey. This year it will be my greatest pleasure to burn two Chad Pennington Jerseys. (My son said "if yours goes then mine goes too"!) Burn it down Burn it down to the Ground!!!!!
Believe it or not, I get compliments every time I wear my Lageman jersey! It doesn't have his name on, so now, as far as I'm concerned, it's a GHOLSTON!! I'll still wear my Chad -- just not when they play Miami.
Top this. In 05' and 06' figured i would spend all my extra cash on an investment like Jets Merchandise. Purchased Full Size Authentic Signed Pennington Helmet Purchased Full Size Authentic Signed Vilma Helmet Purchased Full Size Authentic Signed Vilma College Helmet Purchased Authentic Game Worn Signed Vilma Jersey I'll be back going to punch myself in the balls.
Don't do that lol. Sell them on Ebay or send them to some poor country like all of the 19-0 shirts that made their way down to South America.
now that chad is gone all my jerseys are useless i have a keyshawn, chrebet, pennington, moss, n vilma
Keep them!!!! you never know when some of these players may return. I remember 2 yrs back when Vinny came back. Lotta Vinny jersey came out of the closet.
