Not trying to be a 'wet blanket' and I fully support the acq. of Favre, but those who are frantically buying Favre Jet jerseys like they've been blessed by the Pope, to me seems odd. hear me out. I'm glad we got him, but he'll only be here for a year or two (at the most). He is not a JET! He is a Packer and a hired gun who has gone through some turmoil regarding his "retirement / reinstatement".

i'd rather throw my loot on someone (rhodes, harris, mangold, d'brick, reavis, ellis, coles, cotch...sh!t, even Dearth) I know is going to be here the long run, not just some guy passing through because he f'd his old team.

having said that, he makes us a better team and i hope he takes us to the super bowl. But I still wouldn't buy a Jets jersey with his name/number on the back, no matter what...... you might as well buy a Rick Meier Jets jersey.

And the bassturd stole a record we possessed (sacks) so our crosstown rival could have it. you know what, F favre! You better win mofo! my 2 cents.

People will always spend their money on things that you may not agree with. However it is their money and none of your business.

People are buying them to show support of Favre, in large part. And they are too. I hear he gets a nice cut of that action, lol.

stfu? why don't you drop dead a-hole and not respond to this thread.
Maybe your reading comprehension skills are sub par, but where in my post did I say, "everyone, don't buy favre jerseys". I'm not telling anyone to stop buying Favre jerseys (like it would matter anyway), just saying I wouldn't buy it, hence "my opinion".

    f'n teenagers. lose your vision.

HA! Teenager, i wish, i was simply trying to keep it short and sweet. So what was the purpose of your thread? To tell us that Favre "isnt a jet" even tho he is wearing our colors....way to support your Qb buddy...

Nobody cares that you dont want to buy a Favre jersey, go spend your allowance on some candy bars or something.....and maybe Rick Meier was somebodys fav. player.

you want my opinion....i prefer the 3 ply paper, you can use some to stop the crap spewing out of your orifices...

I think you need to chill out with the stfu's.

He has his opinion as you have yours...and you're both entitled to them...and entitled to post about them. Don't be a commie.

I bought a Favre jersey because he is a NY Jet and I am a stoked fan looking forward to an exciting season of football.

Favre is merely the final touches on what has a chance of being a Tannebaum masterpiece. The Jets won't live soley on the arm of Brett Favre; he is a key compliment.

The long pass play is something that has been so non-existent in the Jets passing attack that I have almost forgotten the last time I saw one.

Everyone is welcome to there opinion but he is not a packer he is a JET. He will be playing for the Jets this season maybe next, he will be wearing the green jersey and throwing TD's to other people wearing Green jerseys. I don't see any difference in people buying Brett Favre jerseys than people buying Jerricho Cotchery or Vernon Gholston jerseys.

Well, there is a slight difference between Favre... and say the rest of the jets. - He is a sure fire hall of famer. You don't get one of those playing for your team very often. On top of that, Favre is arguably the most popular player in the entire NFL, and that was all while playing for the "small market" Green Bay Packers. You know, the team that has sold out every preseason, regular season, and palyoff game since the 60's, and has a 40,000+ waiting list on season tickets (again, I think the size of Green Bay just gives this "small market" mentality, when really it's one of the biggest, and most popular, sporting markets in the country).

On top of that, a Jets Favre jersey will arguably be considered a collectors items when he retires, just like a Falcons jersey will. There are a TON of Favre packer jersey's, including like 300 more of them at my local walmart. The number of favre jet jersey's, despite huge sales, will still pale in comparison to the 16+ years of greenbay ones. So, you get them now while you can. On top of that, it shows support for YOUR QB. It doesn't matter that he will be considered a Packer when he retires, what matters is that if he gets you to the palyoffs, and wins in the playoffs at least one game, it's going to be hard to say it's a waste.

I mean, you can get whatever jersey you like, but face it: Favre is a Jet, and he s the most popular player on your team, and the one with the biggest star power potential. He may be old, but as fans at TC can attest, the man can still throw it like he's 20 something.

Relax there big guy. He's not telling people how to spend their money, he's just stating his opinion that the Favre jersey buying craze is a bit illogical. He's entitled to his opinion, that's what this is, a forum for people to post their opinion on all things Jets....

Well, I don't recall Ronnie Lotts Jet Jersey being anything of a collectors, item. Isn't he a HOF? But I do recall it was quite big news when he came on the team.

Yes he can throw, but the key is will his age and stamina affect his acuracy? Being at the age he's in, it's more and more likely that day by day, week by week, month by month, it will catch up with him, eventually. I can't knock his guts and determination, but I think people tend to overlook the big negatives and enhance the small positives. He had a great year last year, but what happened the 2 years before that? Which Farve will be present on opening day kickoff?

I personally wouldn't buy one now. Lets just hope that they can be worn after week one and the period between now and week 1 isn't the most fun wearing them.
