Is Wayne's restaurant still open? If it is, what is he going to do now that the Jets are moving to Florham Park.
The restaurant is still open. I passed by it last week and the week before on my way to TC. It looked pretty dead, but that was around noon or so. One has to assume the whole Jets-Hofstra thing is going to collapse after August. Practically speaking, all Jets ties with Hofstra and Hempstead will sever completely and forever. There may be some nostalgic reasons for going to Chrebet's from then on, but for the most part, it's over.
Thats too bad, I tried looking for his website and don't see it anymore. I wonder if he'd open one in NJ.
Does anybody remember the name of resturant before it became Cherbets? My big sister use to party there when she was in college.
I ate at Chrebet's during last TC. It has a cool atmosphere, but the food is average and overpriced. He'd be better off trying to drop the whole "Modern ambient club" feel....and just do an all out Jets related sports bar.
Would never fly. He gets more business from Hofstra than Jets fans. After they vacate the area who's gonna come to Hempstead? The college kids will keep him business.
I ate there last year during training camp with my nephew. While we were eating, the waitress gave my nephew an autographed 8x10 of Wayne. That really made my nephew's day.
That's awesome! In terms of Hofstra and the training camp, does Florham Park have dorms for the players to stay at?
