This is my first attempt at starting a new thread, but I wanted to hear what Gang Green's posters think about the upcoming JETS/Gnats preseason tilt. I know these are usually throwaway games, and it doesn't happen for a coupla weeks, but since Favre was beaten by the Gnats in the playoffs, and those little Giants won the Super Bowl, and there's SO MUCH national interest in the Jets all of a sudden (I wonder why), I am beginning to think maybe, just maybe, this upcoming game will have a bit more media and fan interest than the average Jets/Gnats exhibition contest. Am I correct in my assumption?
It's going to be very important, if only because the starters usually play about three quarters in the next-to-last preseason games.
Well, yeah! That's what I am talking about! "Bret's Revenge!" That's the headline I see after the Jets beat the Gnats... Me, I always enjoy this game.
wow, great point Bosko. Had not thought about that at all yet. It's really perfect for Favre, gives him a chance to get over some that season-ending pick that made him want to sobbingly retire. It's funny, cause I was so ecstatic at the time that the Giants were going to the Superbowl, but I also remember feeling really bad for Favre, that that would be his last pass. I'm so glad he gets a chance at redemption and a fresh start here.
jets vs g-woman is always the pre-season 'game to watch' even before they got the ring and we got the ringer. prediction: i fully expect the g-girls to complain because the jets play too rough. i expect some good hair pulling, tops ripped off, the whole 9 yards.
Giants are extremely good at the point of attack on both sides of the ball. Can we hold our own in the trenches? An excellent test.
I'll be hoping for no injuries and cringing during every play, this is my routine for the entirety of the preseason.
Agree 100% but I always love this game best friend is giant fan so sometimes get to stick it to him when we win this even though it dont count.
For the first half, at least... But I always enjoy the second half as much, since that's the team depth. Anyhow, the 'Skins game looks to be boring, but I foresee a LOT of hype for Jints/Jets... This will probably be the biggest Jets/Jints preseason game in several decades! (Since... Well... You know when!)
Definately a bigger hype for the Giants and Jets pre-season game. I still think Green Bay should have had that game, but it's up to Favre to deal revenge. Just wait for the regular season and the circus that will follow. John Maddens love affair with Favre will come to a peak!
