Just wondering if you guys really think Justin Miller will make it to opening day as the starting cornerback opposite Mr. Revis. I'm starting to have my doubts, especially in light of Lowery's impressive play.

    Justin Freaking Miller!

    You're my boy blue!

I really hope he is the RCB since this is probably his last chance to make it as a Corner.

    Hank Poteat, then Lowery.

By the way, I meant to make Hank Poteat the choice instead of 'other' because he would be the only other guy who I could think of as a realistic possibility. I voted 'other' because I get the impression that Miller is slipping and, while Lowery has been good, I don't think he will start opening day because he's a rookie. In that case, Poteat is the clear choice because he's better than Barrett.

IMO, Justin Miller....but with a short leash. The Jet's have big weakness at the # 2 Corner spot.

Guy's, Lowery has Safety written all over him.

Jet's need to consider drafting a shutdown corner in 2009.....like a Vontae Davis.

2009........Revis, V. Davis, Rhodes & Lowey......best secondary in the NFL!!!

I really liked him coming out of college and have always defended him. However, I'm coming to the realization that he's never going to be a good cover corner because his coverage instincts just suck. Obviously, it would be great if he ever learned to play with good coverage instincts and ball skills because he is a tremendous athlete capable of returning any pick for a touchdown from anywhere on the field. (And I sitll want him to be the kickoff returner - although him and Leon is a toss-up for who is better there)

Yeah, a lot of people are saying that Lowery is a lock at safety in the future and I could totally see that. However, I was really impressed with him the other night at corner. He seemed to have very good coverage instincts out there. He's not really the great athlete that you normally are looking for at the Cornerback position (compared to guys like Miller or Revis, for example) but I just want my corner to have good coverage and ball skills. And he seems to. (Granted, I am probably overanalyzing his good performance from one lousy preseason game)

I think you're dead-on! Lowery has the look of a solid player and has a nose for the ball, he's probably more similar to Rhodes as far as his skills, than any corner on the Jet's roster. Lowery just has the swagger of a polished player, even as a rookie. I was thrilled when the Jets drafted Lowery. A very productive player (INTs) In College.

I am pulling for Miller, but he just seems to be always out of position. Revis didn't look that great against the Browns but he will have to be an all pro to cover up for our other CB.

i'm going with barrett. miller the way he's playing may find himself off this team, and i'm a fan of miller's big play potential and hitting ability, but he cant' seem to do much right this training camp

as for lowery. i haven't seen much of him yet(or read much about him), so i'm sticking with barrett.

Wow, a 3 way tie... you just know it's gonna be barrett :(

Miller probably wont ever turn into anything, he just has 0 awareness...

  14. I still think it's Miller.

If you look at his career, he's had setback after setback sincehis rookie year. He's struggled some...but has never really had a chance to "settle in" as a starter. I think he needs to work out the kinks, sort of like a rookie, in order to gain some confidence and play up to his potential.

Of course Jet fans, especially one's on TGG will never allow it, as theyve been on his back since preseason his rookie year.

I say Miller starts opening day but Lowery should have that spot by week 6

  18. I have a funny feeling that lowery may not live up to many of people's expectations. I like his ball skills and I think he'll be a good special teamer and perhaps nickel back...but I just have a hunch that those of you who think of him as a future star are drinking way too much kool aid.

Miller. Lowery would make a better FS than CB I think. Lacks the elite speed.
